English Card Game Tournament Pack V.1 & Tamer Battle Pack 1 Cards from Tournament Kit

Last week, Fun Digica English 4 introduced the Tournament Pack that card shops could order. It was announced that it would have participation and winner prizes for tournaments (or bonus giveaways, if stores didn't feel they could safely hold tournaments.)

At the time we could only reasonably guess what the cards were based on the pack art, since they didn't actually show the cards.

They've put clean card images up now, so let's take a look...

First up is Tournament Pack Volume 1. 32 of these promo packs will be included in a tournament kit. Each pack contains 1 card out of 8.

As expected, the tournament pack uses the villain cards from the Japanese black/purple promo pack. We won't be going over them since they are identical to the Japanese cards, but they feature well known villains Keramon, Kurisarimon, Infermon, Diaboromon, DemiDevimon, Devimon, Myotismon, and VenomMyotismon.

These are participant cards for events.




Then we have Tamer Battle Pack 1. 4 of these promo packs will be included in a tournament kit. Each pack contains 1 card out of 4.

These cards are the English equivalents to the Japanese release of Tamer Battle Pack 1. They feature parallel cards of MetalGreymon, Zudomon, Angewomon, and MegaKabuterimon.

These are the winner's cards for the same events.



Basically what we expected, but nice to get confirmation.

Some updated info regarding these events can be found on the official Digimon Card Game website. Mostly the differences revolve around clarifying what they recommend stores do if they can't safely hold events.



The pre-sale for the first wave of English Digimon Card Game releases is out. It includes the first 3 starter decks and special booster 1.0 (a larger than normal booster set containing a selection of cards from the 1st 3 Japanese boosters. When paired with the upcoming special 1.5, it contains all the cards as those boosters in Japan.)

Kurisarimon hurts a little... i miss the good ol days of it being Chrysallimon, though when we finally get a Lord Knight card im curious which of its MANY english names will it have. Crusader(Frontier) Loadknight (I guess that was Data squad) Roadknight (Linkz?) or Lord knight ?

same. I hate when they do Romanization or whatever it's called instead of just the word it's basing it off of. Aurumon instead of Owlmon is an easy example. It really is a big pet peeve for me

Kurisarimon is the more common name used in localisations. It's prob so it's consistent with Diaboromon which is probably translated that way for censorship reasons.

Well I feel we've had Diaboromon long enough wasn't that the name used in "The Movie" after all? But I recall back during then and in was it tamers or frontier whenver they next showed up being Chrysallimon then we got Kurisarimon with Data Squad. I mean I'm still waiting to see how they handle LordKnightmon i think he has the most official english spellings so far.
Lord Knight, Crusader, Load Knight. I just pray they go with one of the first two options and not Load.
