Ebidramon & ToyAgumon Preview for Booster Set 9

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set 9 X Record. This time it's Ebidramon & ToyAgumon.

Ebidramon continues the nice underwater artwork we've been getting in this set. ToyAgumon features a number of ToyAgumon being busy, while the main one is sleeping.

Ebidramon who is basically a Blue Parasaurmon (i'm sure there are others with that stat line, but that's the one i've seen the most) and ToyAgumon who is the same as the last toyagumon card. just for yellow

it's neat seeing Ebidramon using water powers and seeing ToyAgumon in yellow. Seeing all the ToyAgumons have identical mismatched red and green feet makes me wish I could see ToyAgumon in different block color combinations, like how we've seen Bokomons use different box types

These card’s are good in all but what’s the point of a X-Antibody booster set if they just added more regular Digimon, when they announced this set I was hoping for X-Antibody cards of Dracomon X, Renamon X, Impmon X, Terriermon X, Tyrannomon X, Ogremon X, and Jesmon GX but we haven’t gotten those yet.

And it doesn’t look like there‘s no more space left too add them thanks too adding cards of regular Digimon.

Not in this set. The card list is almost fully revealed by now. Most of the blanks can just be predicted based on the patterns of the list at this point.

What's still missing:

the second secret rare - my guess is Death-X-mon

Those are mostly 2nd gen X-antibodies. BT-09 is heavily based on the original run of Pendulum X Vpets. Business as usual, you can't just give people everything they want, keep them anticipating the next release, if what they get isn't 100% what they wanted. If the card game continues pulling it's weight, we'll get those too.

It's been like this since Booster 1. A theme for a booster doesn't mean the booster will contain all the cards based on the theme.

If the sale of the cards went well, many boosters will be coming. The upcoming ones we'll get Ragnalordmon and Jesmon themed Starter Decks. Jesmon X will likely be there.
Why am I so sure? Because since BT-5, we gradually get X Digimon until this booster which thematically designed to be an X Antibody booster (based on Pendulum X and Chronicle).
Even if we don't get Jesmon X in the next Starter Deck, they still can release many boosters based on various themes. We still don't have ReArise characters, they surely will get cards someday. For digimon you mentioned above, they will likely ger theirs in a booster based on Digital Monster X V-Pet or Chronicle X (the sequel of Chronicle) or in any random booster later.

Uh, because people also want regular Digimon.

Jesmon X will likely be there.

If Ragnalordmon is the one opposing it, they could do something like the only two Level 6s in Jesmon's box being Jesmon and X, and then the level 7 being GX. I don't think they will, but it would make sense if GX was the Level 7 in that box.

They were never going to have *every* x form. That's just bad marketing. everything gets split to have you buy multiple boxes. The frontier set had data squad Tamers in it. Then the frontier Tamers were in the next set. So you had to get two sets
for the frontier monsters and Tamers. Sistermon was in one set, then the awakened modes in the next set (annoyingly, but if all Sistermon were in one set then I'd only need one set not two)

I don’t really care for marketing, all I care about is seeing most of my favorite Digimon appear in the cards weather is in this set or the next one.

I’m still waiting on Canoweissmon to make a card appearance though along with WezenGammamon, Symbare Angoramon, Lamortmon, and Thetismon.

The Ghost Game partners will be a slow burn, specially to not step into the anime's toes. But I'm confident we'll get Ghost Game as a main theme for a set after the Ultimates have debuted in the anime. Around the second half of the year, I guess?

I guess it really does confirm not all booster series can contain all certain digimons matching to the title of those sets. Just half list for random ones and other half for relating with this title.

Figures. But I'm not disappointed. However although I do really get disappointed for certain X forms having not so great artworks.

Gotta admit Ebidramon actually look so nice to be drawn by that artist!

tbh if I was somebody who hated X-antibodies I'd be upset they didn't dump them all in one containment set to make it easier to avoid, and if I loved X-antibodies, I'd be sad to see them all dumped onto one set as then I couldn't look forward to seeing more debuts later.

If we run a business, having random things as well not only the specific theme in one booster isn't a bad marketing, putting all of fan favorites in one is.

From collectors' pov, it's been great like this.
