Espimon? That is quite strange name. And he look like it's some kind of alien in space suit digimon. I totally didn't expect it to be very alien and spacey. Although all Ghost Game partners' evo lines turned out it's not cryptid related but still it gives faint vibes...

But I don't feel this design is too digimon-ish. Maybe I will wait for the full color of this design.

What a bad design... Well, it just confirms ghost game as the show with the worst partners at their child lvl. Im so glad the main trio have awesome evolutions, im waiting to see this little guy evolutions and then judge if they fix its poor design.

I've been seeing a bear but I also see the rodent features

edit: on its belly, is that a button? Maybe a track ball or light? I imagine that whatever it is, it's gonna be a fun feature!

Hard disagree. The ghost game trio are very unique looking and fun designs, especially Jellymon. And Gammamon is one of the better main partner designs out there

It's very impossible to tell which animal this new digimon's design based on.

Its ears are all dome. Its nose is shaped like hexagon. There is no animal tail on this.

Rodent tooth isn't enough to point which animal specifically off of its design.

I can see the trio Ghost Game partners will have their Ultimate forms first reveal then this new digimon shows its evo lines afterward in that pattern! But still again, it's still not easy to predict.

Espimon gave me tiny vibes of Ludomon if its evo line totally go random. Let's see what happen if its "Perfect form" will end up looking "evil" like trio partners did.

Ludomon has proportions that looks like an actual animal and a cool shield motif. This guy has arms the size of his eyes and tiny rocket legs as well as boosters that look like they'll snap the moment he hits a wall.

Espimon is clearly wearing a space suit-rocket combination. Considering the Amanokawa family and Gammamon are all space themed, I wonder how it's connected to them.

Its special attack, [Jet Neat], is using the rockets on its back to charge toward the opponents and rub its head against them, leaving them with a fresh and clean smell.

BTW, Espi made me think of ESP, which for some reason, I related with space and aliens in my mind.

Come to think of it, as we've already discussed on other thread,
Gammamon and his evolutions have this connection to stars.
Angoramon is rabbit, also has connection to the moon. A rabbit on the moon folktale.
Jellymon is a jellyfish. There's also a space phenomenon about Space Jellyfish.

Three of them are related to sky/space. So having a new digimon with jet pack with that (astronaut?) costume isn't a far fetched.

Yep, first thing that came to mind as well. I remember someone musing on "espi"mon being based around "ESP", so it would be appropriate if Espimon were a slime Digimon controlling a robot suit via mind powers.

Anyway, I think the design is really adorable and charming while simultaneously playing with deliberate ugliness.

Before the first episode aired, Gammamon's profile said he could communicate with outer space, IIRC. However, how is the Amanokawa family space themed?
