Just found out Dragon Tiger Gate is coming to DVD in a week, on November 27th.

One of my biggest vices is kung fu movies. Especially Hong Kong style kung fu movies.

Dragon Tiger Gate is based on the Hong Kong manhua Dragon Tiger Gate (or known by it's English title, Oriental Heroes).

Movie is modern Hong Kong style, wirework, special effects, and lots of shit breaking and nearly imploding. Also is in the Guinness book for a 400 pound punching bag. Good story also, if a bit bland and compressed due to the fact that they probably stuffed a bit to much in the movie.

2 disk set with 2 Cantonese tracks, a Mandarin track, an English dub track, a commentary, interviews and deleted scenes.

Also, for those of you that know who it is and care, star's Donnie Yen.

Highly recommended movie.

As a treat, here's a fight scene from it on YouTube.

Also, here's the description and info from Tai Seng (the company releasing it in the USA)

Super action star DONNIE YEN (Iron Monkey, Seven Swords) teams up with his KILL ZONE/SPL director Wilson Yip again for this live action adaptation of Tony Wong's long-running and staggeringly popular comic book series! Dragon (Yen) used to belong to the righteous martial arts school Dragon Tiger Gate. A fallout with his master (Yuen Wah from KUNG FU HUSTLE) led to Dragon being kicked out of the school and leaving his younger brother Tiger (Nicholas Tse from THE PROMISE) behind. Now the two brothers must unite and together with nunchaku expert Turbo Shek (Shawn Yu from INITIAL D), fight the savage and mysterious villain Shibumi, evil leader of the Lousha Gate. With spectacular fights, impressive CGI visuals, and bone-crunching action choreographed by Donnie Yen himself, DRAGON TIGER GATE is the best live action comic book blockbuster since THE STORM RIDERS! Now with an English dubbed soundtrack! {Note from goc, sometimes Tai Seng can be a bit odd in how they phrase stuff, I'm pretty sure the 'dubbed soundtrack' is just referring to the English voices in the english track}

DVD Extras include: Audio commentary by Hong Kong Film Expert Ric Meyers. "Making of" Featurette. Star interviews. Deleted Scenes. Chapters. Trailers.

94 minutes

Anamorphic widescreen enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs. Dolby Digital and DTS Sound. Languages: Cantonese Dolby Digital 5.1, Cantonese DTS, English Dolby Digital 5.1, Mandarin Dolby Digital 5.1. On/Off English and Chinese subtitles. Letterboxed. Domestic. {While I'm aware Chinese subtitles normally give away a bootleg, Tai Seng IS a legimate company, they are just really odd in how they do shit}

It was requested I put up a link where people could buy it from, the souce link goes to Tai Seng's own site/store for Dragon Tiger Gate, since it is the cheapest I could find, but I've never bought from them directly so I can't comment on customer service, etc, here is a link to Amazon, which is where I have my copy ordered.
