After getting a look at a promo poster and our first cards from Booster Set 4 from that poster, we have our first formal look at a card from the upcoming booster Set, Great Legend from the Digimon Card Game Twitter. It's DoneDevimon!

DoneDevimon makes his first appearance today in Digimon Adventure:, and the art on the card gives him a more regal look than previews have. There is some really interesting effects work going on in the card also, mixing that regal with menacing and creepy, plus some nice flame effects.

Digimon Card Game Booster Set 4 Great Legend is scheduled for release on December 18th.

Wow, guess they don't care about spoiling people who haven't watched the latest episode. :ROFLMAO:

Anyways, DoneDevimon seems really good effect-wise. The art is gorgeous as well. Lastly, since he's debuting here before the Reference Book we can see that he keeps the "Fallen Angel" Type as his predecessors which isn't a surprise.

Give it a set or two and cards will start coming out before they show up in the latest episode. Imperialdramon's capabilities were fully known from like three sources before it showed up in Digimon Adventure 02, that's just how things used to be.

DanDevimon gives off a completely different impression standing there with his mouth closed, as opposed to the official artwork of him crawling around with his tongue dangling out.

That's probably the point, since he's meant to invoke both Venom and Spawn.

"Whenever" is the key word here. I immediately thought this plus something like Lopmon. Play lopmon, take a security, gain a card, drop an opponent's security. Plus Lopmon's a yellow, so there is your yellow for Wizardmon and Mastemon synergy. Not to mention Mastemon works great herself with DoneDevimon.

Neither of those actually work, since DoneDevimon is only active on your opponent's turn.

Even still, DoneDevimon is pretty great. It's destruction effect is nice, and you can evolve on something to get Vengeance to make it even harder to deal with. It's a pretty reactive Digimon, but with the right cards, you can be pretty proactive with it. Return Match/Back for Revenge means you can do anything you really want with DoneDevi, including destroying it with a Kimeramon to destroy an opponent's Level 5 or lower Digimon and discarding two of your opponent's cards in hand.

I actually modified that word when streamlining the fan translation I was using but I also felt that was the cleanest way to write what it meant at the time. The original fan translation wrote it as
"[Opponent's Turn] (once per turn) When your Security is reduced, Discard 1 of your opponent's Security.
[When Destroyed] Your opponent Discards 2 cards from hand"
what I wrote said:
[Opponent's Turn] (once per turn) whenever your Security is reduced, Discard 1 of your opponent's Security
[When Deleted] your opponent Discards 2 cards from their hand
I just thought that "when" sounded awkward as it makes your security dropping sound inevitable rather than a situation that you may or may not be in.

As far as I know reads the same either way but it's best if I point that out in case it changes anything I'm unaware of

No, you were fine. I completely skipped over the [Opponent's Turn] (once per turn) part. I thought it was either players turn, and as many times you want. I was sitting here thinking "how on earth does no one think of that. It's so broken" No one thought of it cause they read the whole thing, :D
