Discotek Secret Digimon Screening Event on July 29th at Otakon

The Otakon 2023 schedule (2) has been updated to have a 3 hour long event in Video room 3 called 'Discotek Secret Digimon Screening Event'.

It's at 2:15pm Eastern in Video Room 3 and the description reads...

(Japan, 20xx) It's time for a Digimon screening from Discotek! And it's a secret (mostly.) Be here for the event fans didn't dare to dream of for nearly 25 years & be the 1st to see something truly special! [Action, Fantasy, Sci-Fi. Rated T (Teen) and may contain some segments dealing with mild sexual imagery and/or violence. Distributed by Discotek.]

The start time is shortly after the Discotek panel, which is in Panel Room 2 between 12:45pm and 1:45pm the same day.

I wonder what could be going on... well... that isn't true, because as general disclosure, I produce Digimon at Discotek. So I know what's going on.

3 hours is so long though! I'm definitely intrigued, seems like more than just an inevitable 02 or even Digimon The Movie remaster. Maybe a screening? Looking forward to the news that comes out of it, since some of us (me) have new jobs we can't afford to take time off from.

Discotek only very rarely dubs things, only very short things, and only for very specific big ticket releases.
