Dim Card Set EX2 Digimon Tamers- Images, Evolution Tree, & Pre-Order Details

After being announced at DigiFes we have details of Dim Card Set EX2, featurin Digimon Tamers for the 20th Anniversary of the anime.



They're very nice looking Dims, featuring anime art on the frame, and the D-Ark color on a white Dim.

Plus we have the (almost) full lineups!

Dim Card EX2 03 Renamon



Each Dim Card features the lines from the anime, along with other Digimon from Tamers, and filled out with Digimon associated with the lead Tamers Digimon. Nice choices overall.




In addition, a bonus....

Inserting these Dims into your VB will get you 4 each of storage capsules and evo timers. This only happens once, so multiple purchases won't let you stock up.

Pre-orders are open at Premium Bandai for 3,300 yen for the set. Pre-orders close September 3rd and they ship in December.

At the moment it isn't clear if this is a Premium Bandai exclusive or will get a general release.


Good price, nice lineup, and the Dims themselves look oddly nice. The first EX Dim Set, Digimon Adventure:, has proven one of the hardest for stores to keep in stock, so this one will likely also be popular.

Funny how Terriermon still stuck to the "4 Deva per DIM" pattern while simultaneously including both versions of Andiramon.

I’ve said this before but 2 Child Digimon per DIM should’ve been the standard . . . would’ve solved many problems, including letting Lopmon be in his own dang DIM!

Also noticed Dobermon is suspiciously MIA which cinches his appearance in Legacy of Evil. There’s no way he wouldn’t be in Renamon’s DIM otherwise given both his impact in Tamers and his attribute and fitting the theme.

Harpymon was Renamon’s opponent, not Terriermon’s. Gorimon belongs in that slot as Galgomon’s rival.

Probably "Extra," as so far, the EX series seem to be specifically based on anime series. The first volume (Agumon & Gabumon) was based on the reboot Adventure:, and now the second volume is based on Tamers.

Wonder the 02 digimon will get their own EX-series DiM in the upcoming movie promotion.

Not sure on the likelihood of 02 DIMs. There's already the V-mon-themed Ancient Warriors. Besides, a movie-promotional DIM would be based more-so on the movie itself, rather than the original series. For all we know, V-mon could be the only 02 partner in the movie.

I'd have preferred ChaosDukemon over Medieval but I'm not really complaining about it. This is otherwise what I was hoping for.

Would love to see a second set with Impmon (if that Wizardmon one ain't it), Monodramon, and Leomon at some point but maaayyyybe that's a stretch seeing as how there hasn't even been a second Adventure set yet...

Already preordered! I’m glad I didn’t go to bed early today. I love the use of Devas, enemies from the season, and alt evos. Surprisingly I think my favorite of the three would have to be Terriermon’s since it brings both of Lopmon’s lines. This was a pleasant surprise.

As for products for the new 02 movie. I’d love a definitive D3 ver Complete. That would be enough to satisfy me.

Rapidmon Gold definitely makes sense and I would like that, but I'm personally hoping for BlackSaintGalgomon in the last spot. I just love my dark mons. ^-^

It's a no-brainer that Dukemon Crimson fills Guilmon's last spot which makes me wonder if ChaosDukemon is being left out as a courtesy to those who got the GP versions. I would expect them to follow the same pattern with Renamon and Sakuyamon Miko in that case. Is there anything else that could fill that last slot? Of course, maybe this is just wishful thinking as I'd like to see something that wasn't just another Sakuya form...

Mitamamon is a fox goddess but none of Kudamon’s other forms are there so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

This EX2 appears to be not only Tamers EX DiMs but also 02 EX DiMs, especially the first 02's movie.

So, yeah, it will most likely be Rapidmon Gold.

I don't think that was the line of thought. Lopmon is Terriermon's twin and has a lot of Data and Virus evolutions, it fills out the DiM nicely and is thematically fitting.
