Seemingly the thing teased yesterday, a new V-Pet based on the original Digimon V-Pet has been announced, called the Digital Monster Version Revival.

Well... sort of new...

digimonrevival2_june25_2020.jpg

Based on the information given, it appears the Version Revival of the V-Pets is just a reprint of the version 20th (possibly using the slightly updated boards from the US version perhaps.)

We won't be detailing them, because details seem to match what you would expect from the Version 20th, which we've gotten a few times in the US even, with a 3rd wave coming soon.

The only difference is there doesn't seem to be mention of any special eggs.

It will be available in the original Gray and Brown colors.

Whether anything will be revealed later on... no idea.

Pre-orders are open at Premium Bandai for 3,850 yen each. Pre-orders close on August 5th, and they will ship in December.

Update- Pre-orders are open.

Fun for fans in Japan who missed out, but likely not of crazy interest to those outside of Japan (minus perhaps special packaging, or a reveal later of something new.

US Wave 1 and 2 V-Pets are still available to purchase: (Affiliate links)
Wave 1:
Brick
Gray
Blue
Yellow
Wave 2:
Transparent Purple
Transparent Yellow
Transparent Green
Transparent Blue

If you want to nab these though...

You'll want to contact an intermediary to get these items sent to you. WtW is not affiliated with any, but here are a selection of intermediaries that have worked well for various WtWers and their friends in the past:
From Japan
Rider Proxy
Nippon-Yasan

The Bandai Premium store has also chosen to affiliate themselves/recommend a few potential shops to be used as intermediaries for non-Japanese buyers:
Buyee
From Japan (this From Japan link shows various items that they waive commission fees for.)
Samurai Buyer
DEJapan

You'll want to provide your chosen intermediary with the link to the item. Just copy paste the link to the product pages for what you want and send them a message about it and they'll take care of it after they discuss pricing and their policies with you. The links embedded in the news article for the products are exactly what you'll need to send them.

Some of the intermediaries have a full storefront and may have the item listed, so you may want to check that first.

Oh
Kind of a weird announcement
A reprint of something from 3 years ago isnt particularly exciting, but hey, hope people who missed ver 20th have a good time with em

Well that's a letdown. At least they didn't give us too long to get our hopes up, just two days.

What a waste of time all that just for this. Once again dissapointed it seems like digimon is letting their fans down like pokemon did before.

I really doubt there will be anything else, that would explain the short wait since the announcement, but who knows

I'm into it, so I guess I'm a big sucker, haha. Hopefully they'll have some kind of special packaging, but I can't imagine it being much different than the 20th ones.

I hope these add SOMETHING to make them worthwhile compared to the ver 20th. Even if I was in Japan I would probably be way more interested in the fun colors and low prices of the US releases and just import them.

Very strange. At first I thought they were going to do a stripped down v20th to make it just the v1 -- but it really is just the v20th again?

Bandai sure wants to get their money's worth out of that shell tooling and board...

It seems so strange. I mean, the branding quite clearly shows "VerREVIVAL", which is distinct from the Ver20th branding. But the description clearly indicates that it's a re-print of the Ver20th.

Almost everything on the Premium Bandai page is pretty much lifted off the Digital Monster 20th site. It's weird because they could've called them "Ver.Revival" back in 2017 and it still would've worked.

This is... cool, but I won't be getting them myself. I'll for sure get the PenZ and all the English 20th releases, but this one I can pass on without worrying I am missing out on something.
