Well, after early V-Jump info we knew it was coming in Japan, and now we have confirmation for the west.

Digimon World: Next Order will be released on February 22nd on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.

A trailer for the new versions of the game.

The content is equivalent to the updated PS4 version of the game, with 2 quality of life improvements:
A new lower difficultly mode labeled 'Beginner Mode'
The game has added running, to speed up the pace of moving around.

No price has been formally announced, but the shop page on the Bandai store currently shows $60.

We also have language information, at least for the US release:
Voices- English & Japanese
Subtitles- English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Neutral Spanish

Last up, a short introduction from Producer Habu, and new Producer Takahiro Yokota for the game.

While it's a port of an existing game, only 4 months until the newest Digimon game release...

More to come.

Also... Bandai press has the game under the wrong title of 'Digimon: New World Order'

I assume the EU version will have some slightly different language options, since the PS4 version had German as an available language

I always wanted to play this but couldn’t because I only have a switch so I’m definitely happy.

Now they need to hurry up and give the franchise its much deserved attention and funding to make an open world digimon game that can directly compete with Pokémon. It’s somewhat exhausting that it doesn’t get the funding or attention it deserves. Hopefully this happens. Still somewhat doubtful but I wish they would.

Yes. I hope this makes it possible for possible sequels in the future.

That's some good news, but not exactly exciting; I can't say I've really waiting to play this particular game but having basically all major modern Digimon games finally on PC gives me a fuzzy feeling. Since Next Ørder uses Unity (which, if nothing else, does well with cross-platform portability) the port should be decent at least.

Let's just hope that $60 listing on the Bandai store is a placeholder because charging full price for PC/Switch port of a 5 year old PS4 port of a 6 year old Vita game that still pretty much looks like a Vita game would be kind of a joke.

RIP Xbox I guess. Gets Survive but not the Cyber Sleuths or this. Also with Hyde doing this port, I hope it didnt take anything from Survive since the same devs who made Survive are porting this. Now to hope another game comes late 2023 and this isn't the only 2023 release cuz like most I played this already in 2017.

Switch didn't even exist when Next Order came out, so you had the option of buying it on PS4 when it launched like how you bought a Switch after NO came out.

Is that all, if they were going to do another port of this game, I assumed it would be adding a few more Digimon to fill in the missing spots in evolutions like GeoGreymon, Baohackmon, Saviorhackmon, Dorumon lines, and Meicoomon’s mega’s.

Well, it wouldn't really be a port at that point, would it?

Cyber Sleuth didn't add anything when porting to Switch/PC.

Don’t some ports do that, adding extras that were missing before? I remember DKC Tropical Freeze got ported on Switch and add Funky playable.

Enhanced ports are a thing, yes, they're not even particularly uncommon. But they're usually marketed as being enhanced ports rather than normal ports.

International Edition is already an enhanced port in the first place with new graphics, Digimon, balance changes, quests, and new DLC exclusive to PS4.

Bandai did a comparison here when it came to PS4, the changes are so vast it's basically a remake and not just a regular port with minor differences. It mostly likely wont look this good on Switch though, but should probably look better than PS4 on a high end PC.

This screenshot is very telling of how different the original and IE is.

Also, I don't think it'd really be possible to enhance port a PS4 game to Switch as it'll look and play worse due to being on a weaker system.

If the cyber sleuth complete edition is anything to go by, I would say 60 bucks for switch and 40 on Steam

I think if new lines and Digimon were part of their plan, that announcement would have taken priority over "you can run now". But considering they have models for many of them it's still disappointing that they don't.

Their comparison was cherry picking the most noticeable changes, when most were not nearly as drastic. But sure, the Vita version looked worse, but what you are missing here is that it also looked worse than many other Vita games (including most of Cyber Sleuth).
Did they improve it on the PS4? Yeah, they finally managed to get it looking like a decent Vita game and turned up the resolution. Actual PS4 standards are something else and it's not even close to being a proper remake (an actual example would be Shadow Of The Colossus for instance).

Also, I don't think it'd really be possible to enhance port a PS4 game to Switch as it'll look and play worse due to being on a weaker system.
You say that as if all PS4 games are identical. Perhaps the Vita can't run the sort of graphical fireworks that would push the PS4 to its limits but as pointed out above the Next Ørder port didn't push anything that for example the PS3 couldn't already handle; so if it ends up runs or looks shitty, then it's not an issue of capacity but of optimization. After all the switch has better looking games than Next Ørder already.

With CS/HM they at least had the excuse that it's two games in one... but we'll see.

Survive is the only Unity based Digimon game that got a decent PC port so far, it makes sense to use the same team and there's no reason to assume changes in content. I would prefer a VN over DW1 mechanics any day though.

OOF I didn't notice that price.
I got my PS4 Next Order used at a Gamestop for like $12 in 2016 so 😬
edit: it was 2017 or 2018, I got my dates mixed up
