Hi all,

I'm currently looking in to getting a Vital - the English ones are readily available for me for around 65$ (Vital Hero).

I have a couple questions though:

1) The main Digimon set I am really wanting is the Guilmon EX DiM - are these compatible with the English versions if I order one off Amazon?
2) How exactly do the DiMs work? Once I download the Digimon off of the DiM, are they available on that device forever?
3) Should I just do the pre-order for the newer, Japanese version that's coming out on Bandai Premium? (The Vital BE) I like the waterproofing, but I'm not really sure if any of the other features justify the cost increase/extra wait time - what's the community consensus? (Preorder is 110$)

1) Japanese Dims can be used on the Vital Hero (source). The uploaded info will have Japanese text, though.
2) Dims work by uploading information to one of your Digimon slots (I believe the Vital Bracelet lets you have 2 Digimon at a time) and it stays until you overwrite that information in that slot with another Dim card. So keep on to your Dim cards

I'm not sure if you would like the Vital Hero or BE more. It's ultimately up to you

Adding on to the second answer, please don't get rid of your DiM after you use it! The device requires you to insert it again on certain occasions, and you need to insert it each time you want to hatch a new DigiEgg from that DiM. (Edit: Just noticed they said exactly that. I need better reading comprehension, ahaha)
It's up to you whether you prefer Vital Hero or BE. For longevity BE might be better since they accept both BE Memories and DiM cards, but if you aren't planning on buying BE Memories and would like to save money then Vital Hero might be more suitable for you. Perhaps you can take another look on their pros and cons if it's hard to decide.

When importing a Japanese DiM, which info exactly is in Japanese? Just the Digimon names?

What exactly is a BE Memory? Is that just a new type/generation of DiM?

So far the only thing I've seen on the new one that really piques my interest is the waterproofing and the extra 2 Digimon slots, but I'm not 100% sold on the price jump (and having to import a non-English device) for those two features.

Digimon names will be in Japanese. I use the first Vital Bracelet and Japanese DiMs, which means both the device and card uses Japanese yet I haven't had any language barrier problems so far. The device itself uses English combined with symbols for the most part so it should be fine as long as you're fine with the names being in Japanese.

Yes, BE Memories are basically new generation DiM cards. They only work on Vital BE and have extra features (stats increase depending on what training you do, each Digimon in a BE Memory has a special skill in the Arena app that will be released later, plus BE Memories have more Digimon in their evolution lines). Also battles on Vital BE can be 2v2 (your backup Digimon acts as support). Besides waterproofing these are the new features I know.

Thanks for all the info!
All I have left to say is, where is Kabuterimon?!?! Surprised he doesn't get a chip.

No problem!
Unfortunately no Kabuterimon at this time. DiM cards tend to focus on a single evolution line, which kind of limits their selection of Digimon (most follow the pattern of 1 Rookie, 4 Champion, 6 Ulitmate and 4 Megas). Perhaps one day we can get one with Kabuterimon.
