Digimon that have appeared in a manga, but not in a anime
  • Dorugoramon/DORUgoramon (Appeared in Digimon Chronicle and the D-Cyber manga)
Uh...... X-Evolution? Or does the fully CG special not count?

At any rate, you've got a bizarrely limited and selective list there. The total number of existing Digimon is well over a thousand (even if you don't include Appmon), and I'm sure that all the different Digimon that appeared in the anime, even as tiny background cameos, only number in a few hundred at most.

Dorugoramon did not appear in X-Evolution. Dorugremon evolved to Alphamon.

Couldn't track them all down and could only remember some of them. TMS has given me what are all the Digimon out there who lack an appearance in anime and manga.

I wonder what the oldest digimon is thats never appeared in the anime/manga or a video game (excluding minor appearances like a card).

Probably one of the armour forms

The gravestone in the original Digital Monster V-Pet is a "Ohakadamon" according to an early guidebook.
If you count it as a proper Digimon, it's clearly the oldest species never to appear in a manga or anime (it did appear in the Digital monster ver.S video game though).

Interesting. Do we have any screenshots of it in Ver.S? Curious to see if the addition of color and more details would make it look more or less like just a basic ass gravesite.

Gladimon(champion level of Knightmon) has been around for a long time yet has not been given a appearance in manga or anime.

Seems to be in the manga since Wikimon has a profile for it from ill become digimon king.

Well, you are wrong.
"I'll become the Digimon King" was basically a V-Pet Manual/Guidebook with a few interspersed Manga pages. The Ohakadamon profile was part of the generic V-Pet guide with no connection to the Manga parts.

Maybe this is a better question:

I wonder what the oldest digimon is thats never appeared in the anime/manga or a video game (excluding minor appearances like a card) but is also in the reference book.
That way we can exclude arguably not proper digimon.

I still think its an armour form like Kangarumon.

Older than that. You have Akatorimon and Alraumon right near the start of my list.

Come to think of it, the question could work in reverse: what are some Digimon that only ever appeared in the anime (or manga and games), and literally no other piece of media? After all, many would question whether things like BanchoLeomon Burst Mode or a lot of Xros Wars's tomfoolery could even count as proper Digimon due to their lack of so much as a profile art.

Until a while ago there was Weddinmon and Shortmon from the Xros Wars manga. There may be more. There were certainly a few fusions at least, like Ballistamon Mushroom Cottage which I really liked. (Though not sure I can see that one be added.) Oh, Shademon and Luminamon.

There's also the 3 Boss Digimon from V-Tamer, that barley even made it into the Manga.
Plus Dominimon and Ragulumon. (MagnaAngemon Priest Mode until 2020.)

The Bemmon like from World 3.
ChaosSeadramon Greymon and Piedmon from World 2.
The Shop Merchants from World 1, that may or may not be Wisemon.
Older than that. You have Akatorimon and Alraumon right near the start of my list.
Akatorimon was in ReArise apparently, as part of Zhuqioamon line.

Nah. HolyAngemon Priest Mode did get a Hyper Colosseum card (it wasn't even part of that V-Tamer promotional set, either). It was also in the Xros Loader.

Also, I'm gonna preserve this before it gets edited. Just kinda interesting how this was such a very specific and limited list.
I had this idea for a thread, this is for Digimon that have appeared within the v-pets, video games, and card games but haven't made a debut in a anime or a manga. This also includes digimon that have made at least a debut in a manga, but not in a anime too.

Digimon that have appeared in a manga, but not in a anime
  • Dorugoramon/DORUgoramon (Appeared in Digimon Chronicle and the D-Cyber manga)
  • Mothmon (Appeared in the Digimon Xros Wars manga)
  • KoKabuterimon (Appeared in Digimon Next)
  • Veedramon/V-dramon and AeroVeedramon/AeroV-dramon (Appeared in the V-Tamer manga) (The only thing close to how they would appear in a anime is their sprites in Soul Chaser and their artwork in New Century)
  • Wingdramon (Appeared in Digimon Dreamers)

Digimon that haven't appeared in a anime and manga
  • Aurumon/Owlmon
  • Butterflymon/Butterflamon
  • BlackGatomon/BlackTailmon (The only thing close to how it would appear in a anime is its sprites from Soul Chaser)
  • Diatrymon (The only thing close to how it would appear in a anime is how it appeared in the ending sequence of its digivolution in Survive)
  • Frogmon
  • HiAndromon (The only thing close to how it would appear in a anime is its New Century artwork)
  • Hookmon (The only thing close to how it would appear in a anime is its sprites from Soul Chaser)
  • Kangarumon
  • Kenkimon (The only thing close to how it would appear in a anime is its sprites from Soul Chaser)
  • Peacockmon
  • Rinkmon
  • Sheepmon

Please leave some posts here of Digimon I've missed, as it's hard for me to track down which.

Why is my list interesting? If it's to believe out of favoritism, it really wasn't. I could only remember some of them who lack such appearances, but HiAndromon is the one I'm interested in the most as to why they don't want to use that Digimon. Ever since it debuted in the D-Terminal and throughout the years, they never put it in any anime or manga.

Since DPTronazel mentioned continuing a discussion in this thred in the Ai & Makoto card thread, I just wanted to point out that you can cut Arkadimon Perfect from the list (it appeared in Xros Wars) and that your list of Digimon who appeared in manga but not anime is missing Chaosdramon.
