Digimon Survive pre-orders for Nintendo Switch have re-opened at Amazon: (affiliate link)

There is no noticeable change to the listing from what was there before, suggesting the removal and cancellation of pre-orders may have just been an accident due to miscommunication (or lack of communication) as was generally assumed.

You'll need to pre-order again if you planned to nab it on Switch and had your pre-order cancelled.

In addition, Toei Europe removed the mention of January 2021 from their catalog that was brought up last week. This was likely always just a date estimate for potential licensees to see that franchise merchandise was coming out, and was likely removed based on the number of sites erroneously claiming it was some sort of formally announced date.

Digimon Survive can also be pre-ordered at Amazon.com on Xbox One and PS4: (affiliate links)

Well I guess it still will be 2020. I'm glad the preorders are back for switch users because I felt like that wouldn't be fair to have it cancelled on them. But I'm confused because first they say it was delayed again and then they said that was a typo and now the catalogue said Jan 2021 and now they removed it aswell. Wtf is going on lol but I'm happy everything is kind of back to normal. I really want a release date because we are getting closer to the end of the year so I'm wondering when we will get it. But anyway hopefully we get it soon because the wait gets more frustrating every day that goes by.

the Switch was my prefered console for the game so this is very relieving news. I don't want to sound bitchy but I really wish the game team would be more vocal with its audience, the lack of information where we think entire platforms were cut or the game is delayed/cancelled so close to when we think the game might come out makes it seem like the developers have little faith in the game they're making which in terms hurts consumer faith

So basically this is the second time this happens, only with a smaller timeframe. Bandai is still telling us the game will release this year (in the next 5 months) but refuses to give a date even though they've had at least 3 opportunities to do so in the past few weeks.

I don't mind a delay (normal for games, especially so in these circumstances), but this situation where the only official news we have is that the previous "news" was a mistake and nothing has changed (and this is the second time this happens) is frustrating.

This has been one of the most annoying games to follow. It looked so hopeful and still seems to be a decent game. But all this development hell makes it feel like Bandai is trying to kill off some Digimon fans. As well as Cyber Sleuth and Next Order did, you’d think they’d give a little more attention to the gaming side.

The various Digimon events in the last 3 weeks were never going to be game related due to the type of events they were.

I mean it could be worse (looking at you Metroid Prime 4)

I hope that at least when it comes out it's actually good, it's not gonna be worth the wait but at least it'll be enjoyable

One of the events I meant was Bandai's Play Anime Live.

And nah, we do have news with Metroid Prime 4. Namely that development was reset so we shouldn't expect news.
