Roughly 30 minutes from the time of this post is the Digimon Survive livestream, which is being streamed from part of the Bandai booth at Anime Expo.

This is a livestream focused on Digimon Survive & Digimon games. Producer Habu will be there to answer Q&A questions that were sent in ahead of time, and there will also be a giveaway (US & Canada, 18+ only.)

The livestream will be livestreamed on Twitch and Youtube. The Twitch is embedded above. They seemingly don't have a planned Youtube live url yet, so they are linking to the Bandai Youtube page.

It should last about an hour.

Our list/index of things happening regarding Digimon at Anime Expo can be found here.

Anime Expo 2022 is July 1-4, and Bandai's booth with Digimon content is #2211.

Various tweets made during it. They are all threaded, but including a selection here.

According to people who did hear it, the response mentioned the Olympos, the Ten Ancient Warriors, the Three Musketeers and the Crack Team

Another case of mishearing, people on Twitter clarified the current answer was BeelStarmon

Is there a youtube link available yet? I looked for it in their channel but couldn't find it. I tend to have issues with Twitch streams.

there are some good responses but the least favorable for me is the hard shut down of the possibility of DLC. Adding a few characters, stories, adjustments, etc. adds a ton.

I think Habu looked at the Vital Bracelet compatibility wrong. You need to implement it to where not having one isn't detrimental to gameplay, just adds more content or more options to enjoy the experience so that players without both don't feel barriered

Nah you shouldnt lock content behind things like that there should not be content locked behind the VB it's not fair. Locking Mew in Pokemon behind the 60 dollar pokeball controller was bullshit.

Yeah I wouldn't want content locked behind a product, but Bancho mentioned "more options to enjoy the experience" as well, and I think that could work. If you could sync up or transfer vital points to your game in order to have one of your mons gain exp, then that'd be a really neat alternative way to grind. People who don't have the vb could still grind normally, but for those who can't be at home all day and/or have to be on the move/exercise, they would now have a new option that wasn't available before. This would be neat in the next Story game.

Thank god they didn't decide to lock shit behind owning a secondary device, that always ends up not working out as well as developers like.

Are you kidding me? That's legitimately amazing news. 99% of games these days are sold to steal money from people at all times, so whenever one comes along that's an actual legitimate full-game-out-of-the-box experience that isn't going to nickel and dime you later, that's always good to know.

Overall it was a nice stream, still wish we'd get clarification on whats up with that Guilmon if he's something you'll be locked out of for not pre-ordering, if you can get guil in game anyways and this is jsut a bonus ,or if its some early purchase type thing (available before X)
We'll probably not find out until the game comes out which saddens me.

But yeah I could see VB compatiblity being something like gain a random item from a pool once per day or something. A bonus to those with it just nothing game breaking in the pool, an extra Rare candy can be really useful but its not going to really break the game. Stuff you could farm if you took the time to do so but might get lucky early on and get something that gives you an edge.

The real problem is HOW do you link the VB with your games? Especially when we are looking at a game on multiple consoles? Do you link your VB app to your Bandai Namco ID account, then in game log into your Bandai Namco account to get some random item each day-that would be doable ...but thats more linking to the VB app and not the VB itself. Though you COULD get like in game outfits based on Dim cards you registered or something. I have no clue how that coding would go but it'd be a interesting idea.

But how do you link the VB itself to the PS5 Xboxa Switch and PC for some sort of unlockable? would you need yet another device? something that could link via USB to link to the VB? that sounds like an extra (insert monetary value here).

Sure just about everything has bluetooth so MAYBE theres a way to program some bluetooth communication to unlock somehing but again it feels unlikely. Some sort of once a day in game gacha feels fine like maybe you get one a day normally but can get a bonus one for having a VB? IT'd be nice to incorperate the VB but the real question is HOW do you integrate it.

what you described would make players feel barriered and would take away from the experience if you didn't have both. Taso gets what I meant. By content I'm not meaning something like a whole character it'd be like an item or cosmetic or being able to transfer VB raised Digimon into the game

when they mention that some of the things they wanted to implement into the game were cut, of course I would want DLC to potentially see that content realized later

He did NOT seem happy about that "why did it take so long" question lol, but the rest of the stream was pretty much all stuff we knew or could have surmised. Hosts did a pretty good job of keeping things snappy though, and they were able to get a good amount of questions in.

But yeah the VB question doesn't surprise me; some sort of device integration isn't impossible, but EVENTUALLY that support dies (probably sooner rather than later given the size of the team, and the fact that this development was an outside studio), and you've created an unequal system for those who have it.

Nice to hear the Crack Team and musketeers namedropped!

That's literally every video game ever, including all the ones that get massive amounts of post-launch content.

...If the DLC is good, then you'll want to buy it. Smash Bros does pretty well. But if it's just the classic "Horse Armor" then no. Ading a few new Mons have to be good mons though. A few more chapters might be nice though.
