Digimon Masters Remastered Announced for 2022

After the news of Digimon Super Rumble yesterday, Move Games wasn't done...


They've announced (the link is geolocked to Korea) that Digimon Masters will be remastered (refreshed/upgraded) for current players.

While Digimon Super Rumble is akin to a sequel to Digimon Masters, they have a large audience of people that play Digimon Masters and enjoy it. They state that the game as it currently exists has caused problems in providing a quality game as time has gone on.

They have no plans to close Digimon Masters and everything will be remastered and continue on with Unity Engine.


They are currently developing it and the new version should be ready by the second half of next year. They're taking into account comments from the player community that they've been getting since last year about issues they have with the game as it currently exists.

They provided one screenshot of the remaster, at it's current point in development (at the top.)

They are announcing this now for people who enjoy Digimon Masters so there is no confusion about their plans.



The predecessor to Digimon Masters, Digimon RPG, is also still running in Korea (nearing 20 years later) to the best of our knowledge, even though the English equivalent, Digimon Battle, closed years ago.

About time really the game has looked dated for years and the recent models alongside the 15 year old ones look really jarring.

I wonder what that means for content. Deleting everything and starting again fresh? (Which is what they did with Soul Chaser) Or it'll be the same content but the old models are all swapped out

Yeah you can never go wrong with dw3 I've played it through easily over 20 times

I've played DMO for years. I think it was from 2012 to 2016? Since then I've dipped back into it a few times in 2018 and maybe 2019, but the game is very p2w that it makes it really difficult for old players to come back unless they're willing to pay a huge amount of money to be considered "decent" again. I basically log in every now and then simply to say hi to the guildies and stuff.

Anyways, I really hope this isn't just a graphical update. I honestly wouldn't mind starting over if it will improve content-wise.

I still play DMO too! really excited to see what the remaster will look like, although I may end up jumping ship over to the turn based game if its anything like Digimon Battle Online (Digimon RPG) was!

Honestly, I feel like DMO needs a lot more than a refresh. Obviously the older models need to be updated (It would be great if Bandai let them use updated models from CS/HM and NO btu that's probably out of the question) but I also feel like they should consolidate some of the Evolution trees. Like, I kind of get why they separated some of them, like having separate Jogress and non-jogress lines since some Digimon were simply not in the game when the first line was made. It would probably be a good idea for them to use Fields for separate chains for the same Digimon. It would also be great for them to change up some lines, like replacing ShadowSeraphimon with Goddramon as Patamon's BM.
All in all, I haven't played DMO in years because I ran out of storage space and theres no guarantee the global version will ever get the same treatment. So personally, I would have preferred a totally new MMO not tied to any specific season rather than this or Super Rumble.

I just wish that they'd do away with the lootboxes... but I have a feeling that will never happen. I never even bought the lootboxes but the way they made them practically the only way to "get good" ruined the game for me.

I don't mind paying a bit to play, but as it is now, the game is way too cash-heavy.

It’s just stupid to invest time and/or money in a Digimon that won‘t have good stats because he’s not a 5/5.

they wont because gacha. "get a 3/5? well, do more gacha till you get a 5/5". : movegames. (also it will become useless in a few months when the next OP digimon comes out. thats just the life of mmos/gacha games)

Am I missing something here? What turn based online digimon game are you talking about specifically?
