It's a special (or you know... a clip show.)

And right into it without the intro. He mentions strange things that we'd recognize from early episodes.

No no, not caused by ghosts... nor gods...

Narration ends and we're getting just a clip from the show.

Yeah, no real comments to make on prior show stuff. Although the Mummymon episode was pretty good.

Ah, now they're doing cut-ins and he's explaining characters.

Way too much of this episode is dedicated to the Mummymon episode though, I'm like 25% into it and it's just been the Ghost Navigator intro and Mummmymon episode content.

Mummymon episode ends and the Navigator pops back up to talk about mummies a little bit.

That was a strange cut... I guess that was the commercial break. They only really hit one episode in the first half.

Navigator talks about how Halloween has been more and more adopted in Japan as part of the culture.

Takenaka is good, but there isn't enough of him here.

Pumpmon episode.

Only a few minutes left and still Pumpmon...

And back to the Navigator who talks about Halloween again.

Half was episode 2, half was episode 4. No sign of Kiyoshiro or Jellymon...

That may actually be the worst clipshow ever, and likely the worst episode of Digimon ever.

I'm actually confused at how poorly that was done.

Maybe something they made early on and banked and decided they just needed to use it?

I think it would be a lot better if they use this episode to summarise (in a general sense) about Ghost Game's worldview so far i.e. how Digimon appear in human world, digital gate/portal etc

Wished it was more than just 2.5ish episode lol

Make me wonder if there will be more recap episodes now...

Huh, so it ended up being an abridged (in the traditional sense of the word) version of episodes 2 & 4 with the occasional appearance of Takenaka. Not really a lot to say so I'll mention that I'm kind of sad they didn't utilise the whole "Ghost Navigator" in the show proper more. It would have been cool if he had appeared in the actual show as a character, maybe replacing UverTailmon as the mysterious figure that gives Hiro plot items, I dunno.

I'm uh... huh? I really don't know what to say here.
We already got delayed from the hacking I'm not sure why they went ahead with this thing. A quota to fill for episode number? Don't want to waste Naoto's performance?
It's not quite recapping what we know. It's not a highlight of noteworthy episode. Not even really themed special since the two episodes are pretty much unrelated.. Err moving on? Hope this is the only one.

Btw, does anyone know if all the animated scene was from their episode? I feel like some weren't there before and making new scenes feels like it would pretty much beat the reason of making it recap episode.

This was a fun special episode, with scenes from episodes 2 and 3 and fun remarks by Naoto Takenaka.
In addition to playing him, is Naoto Takenaka supposed to be the Ghost Navigator in universe?

I mean, I get that it was a clip show, but it should have at least shown off everyone's first evolutions...

"Gammamon is a Tie Fighter! ZOOOMM!!"

I...I'm speechless...

That was truly something else. The twists, the revelations, the way all the points neatly tied up by the end. o_O
I do believe we have reached a pinnacle for the franchise with this episode. I just don't know how they will ever top this one! (y)(y)

So much hype! I can't wait to see what happens next! :)
