Snakes and then an alarm. With Kiyoshiro being harasssed.

Nice to see Gammamon floating around in 'hologram' mode.

Kiyoshiro needs to be bullied more. That is one ugly gaming chair.

And the Digivice is just floating around.

Blood writing, which will be revealed to be paint or ketchup or something pretty shortly.

And Jellymon in her... jelly mode or whatever they end up calling it. Jellymon just making herself his partner is amusing as all hell. And she really sounds like a snarky take on Offmon,a s you'd expect based on having the same actor.

They've having a conversation and Jellymon is just floating around uninterested...

All of Kiyoshi's attempts to stop Jellymon not working because she isn't the type of thing to be affected by talismans isa fun touch.

And yep, ketchup. And Jellymon mocks that anyone would take it as blood in the first place.

And proper Jellymon arrives. Her general mood is great to mock someone.

He came back because he's an anime fan who wanted an anime school experiences... and the bandages are fake, inspired by anime (based on things said, it seems to be "Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions" or some in universe equivalent.)

Jellymon really is just framed as a Nagatoro, Takagi, etc. She's only trying to scare him 'because' he's that scared. She's great fun.

Angoramon helicoptering around is quite fun. As is Majiramon being such a large hologram.

...Angoramon just called him on the phone.

A nice selection of Digimon... and also the snakes. Gammamon playing with the snakes is funny, also Jellymon being annoyed that Angoramon won't get to the point.

The phone call is running a bit long to be honest. It isn't quite dramatic enough to be that kind of call.

Jellymon being the cause of everything by rewriting Kiyoshiro's program basically to fuck about and prove she's the best, while floating around and not caring is gold. Also Kiyoshiro agreeing with her.

Ruli and Angoramon popping in via the window is a great visual.

And back to the pseudo-digital world. Jellymon just mocking that Kiyoshiro will be punished for something she did and taunting him over it really fits well. And Kiyoshiro shows some minimal backbone and she decides to help is another good visual, with her typing on the keyboard.

Ruli seems more than a little amused at all of this.

Majiramon really isn't amused at people screwing around with the flow of money.

...man, he really did just yell Limit Break. Jellymon gets a nice little cannon... missing and hitting the last talisman gumming up the works instead of her target.

Ruli showed up and didn't really do much of anything.

And the deal with Jellymon is she likes Kiyoshiro, and they have her quote Lum (I wonder if the random anime references with Kiyoshiro and Jellymon will continue on?)

It's interesting in that it's a good episode because of the characters, especially Jellymon, but the plot itself is mostly nonexistent.

Katsuhisa Houki plays Majiramon, returning to the franchise after playing Minotaurmon in Adventure: He didn't say much, but the voice worked well.

I suppose Jellymon is more anarchist than anti-capitalist, but whatever, I'll take it. She seems like she'll be fun. It's a good pairing with Kyoshiro, but I'm having a harder time getting a bead on him as a character; he's got shades of Joe, and Izzy, but I don't feel like he really mixes the personality types well, so he comes off as unnecessarily manic. We'll see if there's a future episode that clarifies that a bit more, but who knows, maybe getting his master's degree at 13 was a little too intense for somebody in a graduate degree program lol.

Gammamon is still the best, and I'm amazed they've managed to make such a good mascot, although the evolution scene was again pretty perfunctory. I guess Tamers did this from time to time too.

Ghost Game is definitely playing around with my favorite topics, namely the intersection of tech and society, but I do wish they would dive a little more into it; what WOULD life be like with a disruption in payment systems? I don't necessarily expect a full discourse on what would happen, but entertaining the idea a little more would be preferable. Then again, a giant dragon who will murder you for daring to oppose capitalism is a solid enough metaphor, so.

Wow, they just wasted no time this week in getting Jellymon on the cast, huh.

This is easily the most batshit insane episode Ghost Game has had, which henceforth means, it's my favorite haha.

This almost felt like a regular show episode by way of digimon cause it starts with Kiyoshiro just wussing out, then we find out he wussed out so hard he tried to hack talismans on not just his dorm but all over the city, then we find out Jellymon was fucking with him, forced him to realize her and then hacked into his charms so that they messed up the flow of money, and THEN we find out that pissed off a god of money to rise up and specifically go to Kiyoshiro to kill him with a bunch of arrows just. wow. what a introduction episode. From Jellymon and Kiyoshiro's interactions to the various smaller things in the background (obviously anything Gammamon was doing) to how well shot certain scenes were this was an absolute banger of an episode.

I'm not even all that mad that Hiro and Ruri basically do nothing because A.) it lights even more of a fire under Kiyoshiro's ass and B.) since this was more or less a deity type figure, it makes all the sense in the world that they wouldn't really would have been able to do much anyway.

it also helps to have all the characters meet each other in a convenient way for us to just hop into the next episode without too much fluff (hopefully)

I'm not sure if we're ever going to get a story this nuts again, but even if we don't this is probably going to be one that sticks with me for a long while.

Ruli is a bit useless in the episode but they need her because of Angoramon aka the big brain analyzer fluffy guy

Jellymon & Kiyoshiro pairing already one of my favourite digimon/human pairing ever! Such unique, fun relationship between these 2 in just one episode! I won't be surprised if they end up as legendary human/digimon pair for many fans. Also Kiyoshiro unintentionally caused the whole thing and ended up fixing the mess and took full responsibility for it which I'm very surprised which says how good this show already is.

Also there is a lot of reality check for Hiro & Gammamon's fighting strength given how wide the gap between them and Majiramon & co (they couldn't even get close to Majiramon) which is a total contrast to Adventure 2020...

I find it funny how all of Majiramon's minions were Armor Digimon. They previously only had that sort of connection in the Card Game.

Definitely a better outing for Majiramon than Tamers which, as someone born in the year of the Dragon, I wholeheartedly approve.

And I adore Jellymon & Kiyoshiro's dynamic.

Jellymon's no squid kid she's an imp, she was messing with poor Kiyoshiro. That said, she does seem to have some moral compass as she does try to help make things right after it's clear that Kiyoshiro won't run away from the problem, so there will be limits to her actions even if she is going to be comic relief. It also seems like she's starting to respect him by the end of the episode so we'll probably see their relationship grow from that angle whereas the other two already had good relationships with their partners from the start.

Majiramon was definitely an improvement over Tamers. Granted that's not a high bar to reach as the latter was just there to make Cyberdramon and Ryo look good, but it was interesting to see them play to his lore of being a money focused dragon and turning him into a guardian of the flow of wealth. It also made him pretty threatening as he was came off as a wrathful god, and one that actually did come off as unstoppable as Gammamon and Angoramon couldn't even get close to him before he called his judgement. I would've liked to have seen more of Coatlmon and the gang, but at least they were actual support for Majiramon rather then just fodder.

All in all, not too much happened, but it was still a fun episode.

I don't know. I'd put Majiramon's appearance here about on par with Tamers. He didn't get killed, but he didn't do much either.

I'd still put this above Tamers by virtue of him being allowed to have an actual character and be presented as a legitimate threat which is better than his run in Tamers.

Oh, he was a threat in Tamers. He gave them a hard time in battle, and would have won if Ryo hadn't used King Device.

Definitely my favorite episode, so far. We finally get to see Jellymon and get an insight on her personality which is actually pretty new in a Digimon Partner. Also we get more info on Kiyoshiro: he really is smart as he claims, he's a closet otaku, and he's just a major trainwreck. Their dynamic is something rarely, if ever, seen in Digimon. Also the animation style during their whole debut was very fun and expressive, which just added more to their characters.

Majiramon actually seemed like a major threat, as the whole city was affected by him and the stakes at least FELT high, even though by formula it would be resolved in the end.

Next week, it looks like Sirenmon, and I think that would be the first debut of ANY Crusaders Digimon.

I feel for me what makes the difference is how Majiramon was portrayed. With Tamers he did give the team trouble, but compared to the other Devas or even some other MotW he was really just an obstacle, someone Makuramon threw at the Tamers to be sacrificed while he went about his business. Here at least they tried to give him some weight by being an angered guardian, and him stomping through the city with his group of minions summoning snakes and damaging roads and buildings to punish those who stepped over his domain made him appear more impressive. It may not be a big step up in terms of the actual story, but in terms of how much of a presence they gave the character Ghost Game did more for him.

Good episode to finally see Jellymon in action and she not that mischievous, she’s more serious than her partner despite liking to scare him.

and gets annoyed by his cowardice, great to see Majiramon again.

After recently from ReArise, I love they bring another Deva and Armor connection in this episode. The selection of Majiramon, Bitmon, Coatlmon, and Goatmon is perfect. It's majestic. It's like this little group can have their own spin-off series.
Then it makes me love their appearance more because of their actions. Majiramon the executor, Bitmon with the knives, coils of Coatlmon, the ring of bell of the Goat.
This episode is somewhat weird but I love it.

In Hyper Colosseum (the card game), the Devas actually all digivolve from Armor Digimon.

Yeah you're right. And after HC, the connection is there in ReArise. The recent media that highlight them.

This was easily my favorite episode so far! I really love how much personality they fit into each episode.

Kiyoshiro was hilarious and I loved his dynamic with Jellymon... I'm sorry I mean Jellymon-SAMA! An excellent debut for her!

All the digimon cameos were great too, once again, I wish there was more action to it cuz they nail everything else so well. The animation was gorgeous. Finally the trio is together, I hope this means more fights.
