We start with crazy lighting and stuff growing out of a girl, and Hiro is watching and not pleased at this.
And we jump to Hiro and Kiyoshiro hanging out with Gyukimon and Angoramon warning them over video chat about how dangerous he is.
If it bites you you turn into Gyukimon, who doesn't appear naturally, just from that way.
Gyukimon claims he's Ryudamon, and this just randomly happened to him in the human world. He's very adamant he hasn't attacked anyone, and Angoramon points out Gyukimon should be much larger. He claims he met Hokuto who told him if he was ever in trouble, find Hiro.
Kiyoshiro and everyone else doesn't like the idea of helping the potentially crazy dangerous Digimon.
They want to go find Bakumon for potential help. Kiyoshiro is going to hide.
Field trip tomorrow, Gammamon goes off to get chocolate.
Next day on the trip, Kotaro is hitting on someone. Ryudamon catches Gammamon after he falls, having come with them on the field trip.
Kiyoshiro pops in for roll call, and both him and Jellymon freak out finding Ryudamon. Jellymon really wants nothing to do with a Ryudamon. Gammamon shares his chocolate.
Late at night Ryudamon is bashing his head into the desk reminding himself he's Ryudamon and he won't hurt anyone. Although he's clearly strugging and starts to think he should just leave while he can still control himself.
And they arrive at the facility on an island for the field trip. Gyukimon/Ryudamon is gone from Hiro's bag.
This freaks out Kiyoshiro more, since it means now they don't know where he is and he's dangerous.
Kiyoshiro wants Gammamon to protect him since Jellymon wandered off, and we get Ryukimon yelling at himself and attacks Niijima His voice starts to corrupt into something else declaring it won.
After injecting her with the liquid on its back it's back to talking like Ryudamon who freaks out and leaves.
Hiro is asked to take some food to Niijima since she wasn't feeling well. We're back to the scene at the beginning, as she starts to turn into a Gyukimon.
Hiro closes the door and asks her to stay as he runs off for help.
A Gyukimon gets Kotaro in the forest. After biting him the original starts to get larger and begins to freak out about turning into a Ryukimon. Hiro brings back Kiyoshiro and the room is empty, until Niijima jumps down from the ceiling. And Kotaro wanders down from the hallway half Gyukimon.
Jellymon pops out of the floor and launches him up. We get panning shots of the place they're staying with kids in various stages of turning into Gyukimon, and the original Ryudamon one is much larger now.
Jellymon blames Hiro for all this, Kiyoshiro says they should have waited for Bakumon and not taken Gyukimon with them. Bakumon is at Ruli's and points out how stupid doing this was, and luckily he found the note they left for him.
Bakumon doesn't know if they can turn Digimon back, and the call cuts out before he can say much more. Bakumon points out without the call connection, he can't arrive on his own. Ruli asks Angoramon to call for Airdramon.
Jellymon points our Gyukimon is the proper size now, while Hiro is blaming himself.
Gammamon says Ryudamon is a friend and he'll save him and turn everyone back.
Gammamon evolves to Betel, with new dramatic BGM (I think.) Jellymon decides she has no choice to help and then it's Tesla.
Airdramon is zooming to the island while pointing out helping a Gyukimon is very reckless, but he respects their brave spirit.
Bakumon is curious how Angoramon and the others can de-evolve. Angoramon explains it feels right, and brings up Bokomon saying the Digivice was the key to that special ability to evolve at will.
Symbare jumps down as Airdramon arrives and the 3 adult forms go side by side. Bakumon says if they can get Gyukimon to remember being Ryudamon, they may be able to use the Digivice to force him back to his original form.
Canoweissmon shows up to try and beat some sense into Gyukimon, and Ryudamon's forehead gem appears on Gyukimon.
Canoweissmon forehead butts it, and we see Gammamon floating in an ether type space, and he goes into a dark cloud to find the same for Gyukimon. Yelling that he's looking for Ryudamon, not him, slashing it to reveal Ryudamon sitting there. It melts away in energy and light back to the normal world with both going back to Ryudamon and Gammamon.
Gammamon is happy he can say hello to his friend properly now. Ryudamon is quite overjoyed that he's back to normal.
Bakumon himself is able to return the humans and goes around with the other Digimon turning them back. He also tweaked their memories so they wouldn't remember.
Bakumon also chastises Hiro a bit for not thinking it through. No one is overtly accepting his apology, because how he is let them fix everything, and that's how he is, even if it was bad this time. Ryudamon gets to enjoy chocolate as Angoramon is puffy.
Hiro's Study Files this time is Gyukimon.
The first 15 or so minutes of the episode was pretty standard, if maybe slightly more exciting, but some of the stuff towards the end was very interesting, especially if it's followed up on. Above average episode, if maybe the transformation stuff was a bit overly focused on just going 'ooohhhh, weird' when the show has done that a few times at this point.
Masami Kikuchi played Ryudamon. On top of being one of the best known voice actors there is, with a never-ending list of credits, he's well known to Digimon fans for playing 'many' popular characters including but not limited to... Jou in Adventure and 02, Demon in 02, Dolphin and Grani in Tamers, Neemon and the narrator in Frontier (returning as Neemon in Adventure

, Kurata and Belphemon Rage Mode in Savers, Damemon/Tsuwarmon in Xros Wars, and a wide stack of other characters, both human and Digimon.
Outside of Digimon he's played, and this is just a small selection: Keiichi in Ah! My Goddess, Tenchi in Tenchi Muyo, at one point he was Baki in Baki the Grappler, various Gundam characters, he was Sonic & Metal Sonic in the old Sonic OVA... a literal endless list of roles. And for those who like finding out about dubbing roles for non-Japanese titles, he was the Japanese voice of Skeeter in Doug.
