The beginning setup to what is going on was done well, but felt like it took a bit more time than necessary.

Then we jump to Ruli on the piano. And those power plugs look awfully old...

Although I have to be honest, the "I deleted this photo" sort of made me laugh, cause with modern backups and stuff, that's not that wildly crazy.

The gloves to hide it are a nice science fiction plot touch.

Ruli being scared but not being willing to involve her friends works well enough, even if it's pretty standard.

Cloud backup is still on on that picture...

Having the plot continue with no sign of Hiro and Gammamon, or even Angoramon, for a decent chunk worked for the tension and having Ruli feel alone.

Nice of Hiro to message her (out of the blue?) I guess keeping tabs on her from seeing Angoramon.

And Gammamon enjoying his backpack rides. And Angoramon standing right there.

Gammamon being a goof jumping around... Angoramon being silent until he isn't.

Angoramon being the one to explain things about Dracumon feels like it moved the plot from 0 to full on a bit oddly.

Calling it materialize when realize, rearise and other variations have been used on and off feels weird. I guess not to class with the mobile game using it so heavily at the moment?

I like Gammamon hanging onto Angoramon from Ruli's perspective just being him hanging there.

Ruli sitting and waiting for Gammamon was cute. And Gammamon gets a bite taken out of him this time.

Dracumon's attack not working on Ruli because she can't see him at all was a really nice touch.

The piano bit was telegraphed a bit obviously in a way that came across well.

Fluffy Fluffy.

Already playing the letting 'every' Digimon get away coming back to haunt them card feels a touch early with episode 3. Hopefully it plays out well.

Kouki Miyata playing Dracumon was super fun. PicoDevimon in Adventure and Kumbhiramon in Tamers. His voice worked super well in this one.

I'll say that depends on when these Digimon come back. If there's some space between them it would be the best. Maybe even have some come back evolved, like this Dracumon.
But what I like about this is that it feels like a better placed take on the late 02 plot about killing Digimon. Here the crew is not used to battling and it doesn't seem it will be their first option to ending the conflicts, so having them realize some threats need to be put down can be a nice turning point. Perheaps the first step to a bigger arc?

This was easily the best episode for me so far in that it comes the closest to feeling like a horror story(for kids!) The only downside is that it doesn't let us get a good look on who Ruri is as a character specifically since the way she acted is pretty much the same way any regular person would have. The flip side to that is that perhaps she won't be characterized as so much of a looney toon that she becomes too one note, but alas, time will tell (plus we do get to see her in small bits from the first two episodes that that helps in retrospect. The same may be true of our final lead when we get to him.)

I am slightly concerned as to how fast we may be jumping into "the enemy is evil just cuz" territory, but it is interesting that no digimon have "died" or rather been blown to data bits yet. considering that for the most part (if my memory serves me correctly anyway) that the protags of the various series never really started off trying to "kill" their enemies or were given an in-universe excuse to not grapple with those issues (turning into eggs on the spot, having their data be absorbed to be purified) I guess I just took for granted the possible idea that, even if it's digital, going for the kill probably isn't the first thought on the kids minds (the digimon tho?) I supposed we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Also from what Dracumon said I wonder if we're going to get digimon that start honing in on specific humans to try and form a forced, one sided and obviously flawed partnership or something ala something from early savers.

A lot of questions we won't get quick answers to but I do like the gradual drip feed of info about how the digimon as hologram ghosts work, first episode we get nothing, 2nd we get some implications, and now a direct explanation now that we're in the proper position to get one.

The show has been steadily getting better so far and hopefully we can keep up the momentum, though given next week seems to be the "Halloween" episode, the odds seem shaky, on the short term at least.

The one thing that recent Digimon anime has been lacking is the sense of mystery which Ghost Game has done a fantastic job so far. A mixture of horror and mystery really is like a breath of fresh air.
Controlled Hiro and Gammamon by Dracumon and his twist at the end really got me which I like!
I also hope Dracumon may end up being one of the big bosses later on since his evolution line ends up with Granddracmon.
On the flip side Angoramon's character is bit plain compare with Gammamon but there is plenty of episodes to get deeper. Overall Ghost Game is getting better by the episode and keep it up:)

The credits admittedly give this away but poor Kiyoshiro is definitely being tormented by Jellymon, I do like him asking for a Digivice since we know he's going to get soon enough.

I do like Ruli and Angoramon's dynamic, it's cute.

I was honestly expecting him to just steal the free one Hrio was holding in a panic causing to Hiro to go "Shit I only have two of those! Oh well I'll bite the bullet for now I guess." prompting him to get the other one for Ruri

I hope we see Dracumon and other X-antibody Digimon in future episodes. This episode, with Andoramon is good. I did not know how I will like Andoramon, but it seems very cool, and fluffy.

To be fair, he still may either ask the others for help or steal a Digivice out of desperation.

I find it funny how everyone is assuming that the enemy Digimon will come back just because they survived when it's pretty normal for horror stuff to leave unanswered questions.

Man, I feel like we're spoiled as viewers to be as bloodthirsty as possible.

Because it kinda brings into question how competent our protagonists are if the scary murder demons are allowed to continue being scary murder demons.

I thought it was Ekakimon because of the similar doll Ruri had on her couch xD
What if Dracmon turns to Grandarcmon for the first boss? hmmm

I'm mixed on this episode. On one hand the horror part is done really well here. The fact that they chose a rookie level Digimon for something so scary is interesting, showing that digimon are capable of much more than just their signature attacks. Angoramon was also super likeable, being somewhat shy but a badass while fighting. While I didn't like his design when it was leaked it looks surprisingly good when actually fighting.

But it's the whole "materializing" thing that bothers me. According to Angoramon Digimon can't interact with solid matter (except appearantly the floor for some reason) until they materialize. Yet both Clockmon and Mummymon seemed to be able to interact with solid matter and humans, and even make themselves visible. Not only that, they seemed to be able to choose when to do so too, like they semi-materialized at will. It's just odd to me. Maybe it's because those two are stronger than simple rookies, but still. I guess I'll draw a conclusion in the next episode, since it has pumpkinmon seemingly interacting with solid matter.

Curious to see what the writers have planned with Dracmon.

That girl could have put on a Vital Bracelet unboxing and try out video on Youtube and she'd figure out how to use it sooner than she did on her own in this episode, lol.

Nitpick aside, Ghost Game continues to be really interesting. Makes me wonder if Dracmon will go through a similar treatment as Impmon in Tamers. Given he seems to have a bit of a plan when compared to Impmon, who was literally just pulling unorganized pranks, I feel he will be different. Would be interesting for him to gain evolutions and become a bigger threat.

Well, it's going to be hard to be objective with this episode because it's a Ruli-centric episode and I love this girl too much ^^.

In short, the whole first part of the episode centered only on Ruli was a very interesting point of view, we can feel his fear, his incomprehension, his anguish made to this unrealistic situation.

Then comes the intervention of Hiro (related to Angoramon he saw at the end of episode 2) and the introduction of Ruli with the Digimon universe, I was really waiting to hear the voice of Angoramon and I find that suits him very well and it makes sense that he knows which digimon has targeted Ruli as he has been observing him for a while so he must have seen Dracmon launch his attack on Ruli.

I loved seeing Angoramon attempting to protect Ruli from Gammamon and Hiro when possessed (despite not seeming to know how to grab humans like Clockmon and Mummymon, but I think in the heat of the moment , Angoramon has no time to decide whether to cross or grab).

Ruli in one episode already knows two of Angoramon's attacks while Hiro only knows one attack from Gammamon and one from Betel.

I knew it was a mistake to let Dracmon go, yet another digimon who will come back for revenge .... Which makes me think we have sort of a pattern at the moment:

EP1: Introduced from a partner, the villain is defeated but swears revenge.
EP2: The Villain is a Kanzen-Tai, evolution of the partner
EP3: Introduced from a partner, the villain is defeated but swears revenge.
EP4: The Villain is a Kanzen-Tai ....

There is therefore a good chance that we have another evolution in episode 4 (Symbare? Kaus? Wezen?) And that episode 5 introduces Jellymon (with a high chance that the enemy is Goatmon because the 4 first opponent had been teased before episode 1 aired and Goatmon is the only one left .... And so Goatmon would be defeated and come back for revenge if we follow the pattern.)

And finally the first interaction between Hiro and Ruli, I loved seeing Hiro being embarrassed with Ruli who gives him suspicious looks ... can't wait to see the evolution we will have between these two characters and of course Ruli and his partner.

Easily the best intro episode we’ve had from a secondary protagonist

this show is everything! Could easily be the best season if it continues like this

Angoramon is badass. Love his design and how protective he was of Ruli
Big softie

I like how Hiro is becoming a little cyber sleuth - reaching out to victims of the digimon

and finally dracumon was a great villain of the week. It’s great that they’re setting up recurring villains. He’ll be back. Hopefully he evolves

great first few episodes. In 3 episodes, it’s achieved far more than 2020 was able to do for me

I think this episode was good. Ruli being alone for a while was nice as we could appreciate more her fear. I liked having Hiro message her. I also liked having Angoramon tell them about Dracumon. Dracumon was a good villain. The fight was nice. He controled Hiro and Gammamon but was defeated by Angoramon once Ruli materialized him. I don't see why they let him leave. As we saw at the end, this will backfire terribly.

This was a good episode, great seeing Angoramon in action and first Dracmon actually bites, I didn’t know his eyes were removable from his hands.
