Digimon Fusion Season 2 on Nicktoons

Digimon Fusion Season 2 was announced by Saban as airing on Nicktoons next year. They made the announcement today at Licensing Expo 2014.

No further details at the moment.

Good to know that we're still getting the second part of fusion. Did Saban say anything about it airing on the Vortexx, or will it not air there because of the block being terminated later this year? Do hope the main casts stays the same.

Well considering that the news is for next year, it makes sense it won't air on Vortexx, since that goes this year.

With it seemingly being exclusive to Nicktoons, who knows of Saban will continue to dub it in accordance to the BSnP of broadcast television, or if they'll loosen up a bit and dub it insteas to the standards of cable television.

I'm a bit disappointed that we'll have to wait until next year, but it's still nice to see that the series will be continuing nonetheless since we haven't heard much from them until now. Hopefully we'll get a bit more on the next season soon as I'd like to know what potential plans they have for the seasons since the circumstances are somewhat different then what we had with the first.

Vortexx's death is still making me numb, but it's great that they're continuing Xros Wars's airing. The Death Generals were an interesting bunch ... but I do wonder who Yuu's VA will be.

That it's not coming until next year doesn't surprise me at all since a lot of shows tend to air their seasons on a by year basis. Saban's been doing that lately with their recent Power Rangers series despite those only being as long as 20 episodes plus a few special episodes.

That isn't how TV works.

They only do 22 episodes a year (20 plus 2 specials) because that is all Nick will air of the series. Nick doesn't want 40 episodes a year, and it would be counterproductive for Saban to only try and produce the series every other year.

There are also various advantages in holding off for a bit (reair the first season to try and get more audience, Bandai producing what seems to be more Ranger toys than ever might mean they aren't fully prepared for a proper launch in time to do toys for the holidays, which means holding off to the spring makes more sense to launch the show, as at that point they could likely stretch season 2 closer to the holidays, etc.)

That doesn't conflict with what I said (in regards to the first sentence I posted, since that was my main point), but I see now that what my main point was was in error due to my forgetting that the Fusion began airing last year instead of earlier this year. ^_^'

A year is an awfully long gap, especially since Fusion has had more delays than Xros did during it's airing. Maybe they can re-air straight through during the downtime at least?

Don't get me wrong though, I'm really glad that Death Generals is confirmed since it's my favorite arc and I'm looking forward to seeing how it's handled. Maybe we'll luck out and a boxset of Fusion part one will be released?

I would love it if that were the case. But, if it turns out he plays someone else (say, Lopmon, Mervamon, or Ruka) I wouldn't be too upset.

It can't air on Vortex because it's ending in the fall to be replaced with another A/I block.

I'm gonna guess we're getting a long wait because of the amount of time it takes to censor Mervamon

Another thing to consider about the gap: There's gotta be a lot of censorship in that season.

Eh, depends on what restrictions saban or nicktoons has. It seems like saban usually follows the restrictions laid out by the channel. If DBZ kai was allowed to show some heavy violence. At most, probably the more detailed shots of Mervamon would be cut out or painted over. I do wonder how laylamon's digifuse with the vilemon and blastmon's head will deal out.
Actually, I was wondering if the music from the original version would be licensed, or some of it, mainly since the series might have accumulated some money for Saban to allow them to purchase the broadcasting rights, or something, though that could just be a dull guess, ah well.
