Digimon Con 2023 Announcement- Details- February 11th at 5pm Pacific

We have our first details for Digimon Con 2023!

Like 2022, it will be a streaming event on Bandai's Youtube.

The day and time is:
February 12th at 10am (Japan), Sunday
February 11th at 5pm (Pacific), Saturday
February 11th at 8pm (Eastern), Saturday


The details on what they will show off and talk about is basic at the moment, with more details to be announced on February 6th:
Toys- Info about a Vital Bracelet App Collaboration
Card Battles- Japan vs US and Japan vs China
Games- New Game info
Anime- Talk from the cast of Ghost Game and Frontier
Live performance by a special guest
Results of the initial judging for the Digimon Illustration Competition 2023

Digimon Con 2022 announced the 2020 dub, so hopefully more info on that

Hmmmm... not that it's not exciting to hear they're doing another, but I'm curious to see what they actually have to talk about. Last year's video game panel was a bit of a bust (which really could have been saved by just... announcing the Survive release date/window, which we got like two months later anyway?), but the anime panel was good - and they covered a lot of ground. Maybe a new trailer this year? The VB Lab raid was really cool too, but since that's not how they're doing things anymore... not sure what this app "collaboration" will look like. Guess we'll find out more as we go.

New game info? That could mean Story or possibly a mobile game. I don't think it means new century since that game has already released in China. However I expect Bandai to release the info in advance so by the time the Digimon Con arrives it will all be old news.

It will probably be just next order but if were lucky they talk about something new they did say multiple game projects were being worked on so who knows

Most likely the next Story. At this point they would have been working on it for quite some time, and barring a complete asset overhaul that required a ton of time to make the art for, they should have something to show by now, even if it's only a "no gameplay footage" trailer.

Next 0rder releasing next year so I believe there will no another digimon game unless they tease us a bit about upcoming new Digimon Story game. I don't know, if you as me what's the most realistic wish I have for Digimon game, it would be the worldwide release of New Century.

No, see, that's the thing, while it rereleases next year, it rereleases within this fiscal year. This is a good fiscal year for Digimon video games given that rerelease and the release of Survive, but it'll leave nothing for next year besides the continual stream of money from mobile games. That makes it at least a reasonable possibility that we'll see an early announcement for a game releasing late next year or very, very early 2024.
