I would really say digimon is going thru a renaisance of sorts, i mean they've really been tying up loose ends, not just adding a few artworks but actually giving more atention to things like :

- spirit evo,

- armor evo,

- digimon gear,

- resurected lines (Baluchimon,MarineChimeramon)

- digi-geography (folder continent),

- digi-lore in general (the background art in the cards really adds to it i think.)

- returning to a more "natural" style (away from omega-alpha-mecha-generis)

- there is even a cardgame they actually want to spread (as oposed to some random arcade gimmick here or there, fated to never leave the east.)

- consistent v-pets and the DiM( dystopian as it is...)

- consistent games coming out, both shining light on old digimon(SURVIVE) or new ones(GHOSTSTORY)

- an anime were they are clearly comited to show EVERYONE O' THEM.

Makes me wonder if they have some BIG project in the works that warrants a more consistent and established Lore.

It really seems that of all the 90's leftover franchises, digimon is the only one to really keep they're style fresh and were you feel there is still alot of love and potential for the concept, really think about it :
sonic + pikachu = pulsemon = victory lap)

I am so happy to see PileVolcamon have official art! It's from Hyper Colloseum but having a definitive default art is nice. Unfortunately its profile matches Cyber Sleuth so it's nothing new but I love him as a Digimon so having Pile Volcamon not left out of the reference book still makes me happy

Just causes me to wonder if the profile was made up by hackers memory or if bandai have a secret drb only they have access to and they hiding the goods from us

Most likely the latter. I noticed when they added the black Imperialdramon to the Reference Book, Wikimon already had a profile under the Misc tab from something called the Digimon Visual Dictionary (even linking to a scan of the black Imperialdramon's entry). The Reference Book description was pretty much a copy/paste of that (with the exception of one newly-added sentence about how it can't be stopped upon going berserk). So yeah, it's likely that they already have profiles written up that're hanging around somewhere or other.

Kinda a bummer that Raidemon's profile basically confirms that it's actually not designed as a fusion of Raijinmon, Fujinmon and Suijinmon, albeit it happened once in a card.
I gotta be honest: Raidenmon's description (which has also been in the Digimon Visual Dictionary for ages) barely gives me the impression that it should be an Ultimate as is, let alone a fusion of other Ultimates. I actually hope it gets to appear in more media just so they can expand on its potential pre-evolutions a bit more (as of this post, literally the only things it can evolve from are other Ultimates: the aforementioned Raijimon+Fujinmon+Suijinmon in Hyper Colosseum, and HerakleKabuterimon in the Digimon Neo V-pet). Kinda like how Aegisdramon got downgraded to a standard Ultimate in recent V-pets (after seeming like this Super Ultimate Plesiomon/MetalSeadramon fusion for the longest time).

I do think we're going see at least one update for September since we do still have a backlog of Digimon besides Negamon that still need to be added.
Yeah, there are like 30-35 Digimon which are quite the low-hanging fruit, with portrayals in more than one form of (recent) media (a combination of TCG, anime and/or videogames). These Digimon should really be added sooner rather than later, we've waited long enough ;)

- Sunmon and Moonmon;
- Dokunemon and Modoki Betamon;
- The rest of the Arkadimon-line;
- The Sistermon Awaken forms;
- Black Galgomon, Black Rapidmon, Red V-dramon, Kyubimon (Silver) and Taomon (Silver);
- Pile Volcamon;
- Raijinmon and Raidenmon;
- The rest of the Olympus XII, their left-over forms and affiliated Digimon: Bacchusmon, Ceresmon (+Medium), Junomon (+Hysteric Mode), Jupitermon Wrath Mode and Plutomon;
- Omegamon Zwart (Defeat);
- Some left-over Shoutmon variants.

It will get interesting afterwards; Will they add obscure Digimon like Blikmon, or King Whamon? Or are such Digimon doomed in semi-canonicity and/or obscureness? Or obtainable Digimon exclusive to some of the videogames, like the Chronomon-line? I will personally be overjoyed if that particular family gets added.

This year quite a few very interesting and unexpected profiles got added: Yoxto!Yoxto!mon, Atamadekachimon, Minidekachimon, Kodugumon, Trailmon, Great King Scumon, Burgamon (Adult) and Burpmon, so I have good hopes for the rest. The question is; How long will it take, and how much space will the upcoming anime take in the form of new entries? Ghost Game might use a lot of older Digimon in its episodes, or be the second Xros Wars with lots and lots of new designs. We've already seen Baby I and Baby II forms of Gammamon, so the series might be a bit more 'traditional' on the Digivolution part (I hope this is the case). But will this leave space for these legacy-Digimon I mentioned earlier? The low-hanging fruit, and the more obscure ones? It will be interesting to see.

I am sure the Olympus will get an major update ones their profile releases

I'm kinda hoping that Sistermon Ciel's awakened form will get a profile (as well as official art) around the time the other two Sistermon's awakened forms get one. Though the fact that Blanc and Noir (plus their Awakeneds) have appeared in the card game while Ciel hasn't gives me the impression that she's still treated as a stand-alone apart from them. Still, would be nice if Ciel gets her Awakened officially recognized at some point or other (rather than remaining a glorified model hack exclusive to the international version of Hacker's Memory).

Definitely an awesome update! Really puts a dent into the amount of legacy-Digimon left to add.

Yeah but I love the concept of a fusion of those three Digimon because it's like a reference to Yugioh's Gate Guardian.

With the newest update I noticed something which might be a pattern (or just wrong deduction).

Looking at 2021 thus far, we know updates follow after new V-pet-/gamedesigns, or after a new episode featuring a returning/brand new Digimon. Basically every newly featured Digimon quickly gets added. Together, they're basically one category. Then there are the bimonthly Profile-reports usually featuring a group of Digimon sharing some trait(s) or an organisation. If some of those don't have a profile, they get added the week the new Profile-report launches. That's the second category of entries. The third category consists of the obscure Digimon which featured in the Reference Book contest, the results decided in which order they'd obtain a profile and official artwork. The last and fourth category basically consists of X-antibody updates, of which there were two this year, finishing the X-antibody list.

So, in quick order:
1) Digimon revealed/featured in a V-pet, Anime-episode or videogame.
2) Digimon tied to a Profile-report.
3) Digimon added because of the Contest.
4) Digimon carrying the X-antibody.

If we divide all of the 2021 Reference Book updates over these categories, we're left with the following:
- May 17, which added Culumon.
- June 25, which added Tekkamon, Assaultmon, Vermillimon, Kyukimon and Brachiomon.
- July 14, which added Bomber Nanimon, Mori Shellmon, Yanmamon, Sand Yanmamon, Pidmon, Burgamon (Adult) and Guardromon (Gold).
- September 1, which added Modoki Betamon, Dokunemon, Raijinmon, Raidenmon and Pile Volcamon.

Culumon is obviously an outlier, added on the anniversary of Digimon Tamers: Pocket Culumon. The others? They basically share one thing: All of them debuted in the 1999-2002 era, with the exception of Guardromon (Gold) (which is a recoloured version of Guardromon, which debuted in 1999). This selection basically consists of a huge amount of the old Digimon which were still in need of an official Reference Book entry.

But are these the only 1999-2002 Digimon which were still in need of an entry? Nope, obviously not. There are some left-overs, still. But based on those left-overs, I've made a prediction in which order they might appear whenever a Reference Book update isn't tied to category 1 or 2 (as the other two categories are basically obsolete now), nor a very important outlier tied to an anniversary (like Culumon):

- Red V-Dramon (2000)
- Black Galgomon (2001)
- Black Rapidmon (2001)
- Kyubimon (Silver) (2001)
- Taomon (Silver) (2001)

Basically recoloured versions of some protagonist Digimon. All of them featured in more than just 1 piece of media; Usually a combination of an inclusion in the old TCG and an appearance in a relatively recent videogame. This makes their addition to the Reference Book basically inevitable.

- Arkadimon (Baby) (2000)
- Arkadimon (Adult) (2001)
- Arkadimon (Perfect) (2001)
- Arkadimon (Ultimate) (2001)

The (in)famous Arkadimon-line, of which its Child-form currently has an entry in the Reference Book. The family got featured in more recent forms of media, so its inclusion is probably inevitable, too.

This leaves more obscure Digimon which have a very slim of appearing in an update, if at all:
- XV-mon (Black) (2001)
- Stingmon (Black) (2001)
- V-Dramon (Black) (2001)
- Imperialdramon (Fighter Mode) (Black) (2001)
- Parallelmon (2001)
- Metamormon (2002)
- Blikmon (1999)

The first four featured in just one old Hyper Colosseum card (with the latter also appearing in a very old videogame). Parallelmon and Metamormon only featured in the old manga and had a Hyper Colosseum card, too. Blikmon featured in more than one videogame, also appearing in a V-pet, but hasn't been seen since (apart from a cameo in card's background). Even though I hope he eventually gets added. Are there more old Digimon I have left out? Definitely. The Bemmon-family, for example, which is riddled in even more obscurity. Or the Super Ultimates and others from V-tamer (like Dominimon). I honestly just don't know if they have a chance.

If we leave the 1999-2002 era, the first entry-less Digimon we encounter are those introduced during the DS-era: the Chronomon-family and Sunmon/Moonmon. I think they definitely have a very good chance, but maybe after the two selections I mentioned earlier, or maybe even as a part of a Profile-update.

/tinfoilhat

TL;DR: If a Reference Book update isn't tied to the following: 1) Digimon revealed/featured in a V-pet, Anime-episode or videogame or 2) Digimon tied to a Profile-report, then I predict the following Digimon will appear, spread across 2 updates:
- Red V-Dramon
- Black Galgomon
- Black Rapidmon
- Kyubimon (Silver)
- Taomon (Silver)

- Arkadimon (Baby)
- Arkadimon (Adult)
- Arkadimon (Perfect)
- Arkadimon (Ultimate)

To be fair, we already have the Dragon Mode of Imperialdramon Black so the Black versions of XV-mon, Stingmon and Imperialdramon Fighter Mode isn't too unlikely compared to the recolors you suggested.

I do think there is a prioritization of the older mon, even factoring the Profile reports since some of those reports resulted in the likes of ClearAgumon and Gladimon getting added and we also saw the addition of both GoldNumemon and BlackKingNumemon around the same time as the reports despite the reports not being about them.

I wonder if any artwork of Blikmon (aside from that background appearance) exists at all. I guess what happened is that Digimon World 2 simply re-used the model for the "Blik Dolls" in the first game and branded it a Digimon, but there was never any profile art or anything cooked up, which is why it failed to appear in any other media (aside from the D-Gather and D-Spirit, but it seems to me like Bandai Asia typically does their own thing anyway, which may be why Ulforce V-dramon Future Mode appeared in Digimon Masters before its removal). Though I wonder why they'd be so hesitant to convert the "Blik Dolls" into proper Digimon. I mean, they had absolutely no problems retooling other Digimon that only existed as 3D models for the Pendulums, like Hagurumon and WaruMonzaemon (or even Clockmon, which only had a screen icon in Digimon World).

And I still don't get what's the deal with V-Tamer Digimon, but given that Arkadimon Child is there, and the rest of the line (except Super Ultimate) have standardized artwork, I don't see why they shouldn't be there. Though speaking of the Super Ultimate, would there be anything stopping them from just using the Yabuno artwork? Aside from maybe a stylistic inconsistency (though I'd argue we already have plenty of that with the Xros Wars artwork). Would be pretty awkward if Arkadimon Super Ultimate were to remain absent in the Reference Book, especially after it was so heavily promoted for Hacker's Memory.

GoldNumemon and BlackKingNumemon were featured in the new poll at that time, those are related to Profiles, as well.

The thing with Imperialdramon (Black) is that its Dragon Mode has appeared solo a lot of times; In videogames on the DS, Jintrix, Crusader and even in the (recent) TCG. While its Fighter Mode only had two appearances; its debut in D-project and one card the same year, all back in 2002. It's obviously not an impossibility, but he's far more obscure and not at all a guaranteed addition. Stingmon (Black) and XV-mon (Black) have only one portrayal a long time ago, too. Never being featured again.

In contrast, the Black Galgomon line has been featured in the TCG, Collectors, multiple games, and more. With Black Saint Galgomon already having an entry. While Kyubimon/Taomon (Silver) and Red V-Dramon also featured in the relatively recent Digimon World: Next Order (2016), 14 years or so after their debuts. That's why I think they're more likely to appear.

@Yamato-san Yeah, I don't think they have artwork laying around for Blikmon, either. You bring up some good points about him.

Not necessarily, a lot of these poles have been completely unrelated to the reports.
