normally Baby 2 Dokunemon should be the thing considered stupid, not the child level version in the reference book, but why would I not want such a cool spider as a baby option as well? Even if it's way too developed for a baby, that's what makes having it fun for me like yes look at all these baby blobs with a random literal spider amongst them

I mean DemiVeemon, Calumon, and Kyupimon exist and they wouldn't look out of place as rookies.

Chibimon's overgrown body is explained in its profile. Cupimon is the Baby of an overpowered (and overgrown) Child so it makes sense, unlike Dokugumon which is just a generic spider Digimon. Culumon isn't even in the DRB, there's a chance that it might also get reconned to Child.

Oh boy, Digimon Twitter needs better explanation on this new KoDokugumon and Baby form.

So the certain alien baby doesn't count? lol

I was actually halfway expecting them to declare Entmon's soot Spiders the new KoDokugumon and say it shared them with Dokugumon.

I originally wasn't on board with Kodokugumon getting added to the reference book/"getting canonized" because I've always found its design to be simultaneously too detailed for a baby and too boring/similar to Dokugumon to be its own thing; but I have to admit, I'm really into this redesigned fella. He has a lot of what makes real spiders so cute and charming plus that unmistakable Digimon aesthetic flavor. The only downside is Dokunemon no longer has its own unique "main" evolution.

To tie into the new Digimon Profile we get a reference book update with 2 Digimon!

Anybody think Gladimon is unique? It's kinda... Pseudo Mamemon/Giromon but it's more of "Kirby"-ish species?

I keep thinking Gladimon and Knightmon are a level below what they actually are.

In fairness Knightmon and Gladimon are simplistic by the standards of their levels, even in relation to their seeming evil counterparts DarkKnightmon and SkullKightmon respectively.

Wow, I really like how they're adding so many 'oldies' lately. Some pretty obscure ones, too.

Is KoDokugumon (Baby) still a thing, or 'retconned' by this new variant?

I hope the Chronomon line gets added this year. Brachimon, Dokunemon, Mori Shellmon, (Sand) Yanmamon, Vermillimon, Tekkamon and Pidmon are still not included, either.

I expected its entirely-unknown classifications, but it is weird to actually see it.

To be fair, it's profile seems states that it is unable to attack or Digivolve and implies that, like in Tamers, it's the catalyst of Digivolution.

How is this DRB update relevant? dude doesnt have level, type, cannot attack nor digivolve. Yeah, now have an "official profile", but thats pointless tbh, dude is going to be ignored, good luck if you are a calumon fan and want to see it in a game.

As literally stated, this update is a commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Pocket Culumon game. Culumon has also already shown up in multiple games, both as a support NPC or a playable Digimon.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the release of Pocket Culumon, a special single addition to the reference book...
Culumon!
...why is the image on the actual entry so saturated? They have properly colored art, clearly, so that's kinda weird.

I feel like the fact that we now officially know it has unknown level etc. is relevant in and of itself.

Keep in mind that just existing in the DRB is an acknowledgement since DRB mon have a reletively higher chance of appearing in media than non-DRB mon.

Calumon's entire profile going "it's a mystery" was a really big letdown but I'm just glad it's added. I really like that the profile states he aids in evolution instead of being the catalyst of it as it means he's valuable outside the Tamer's universe where Digimon might be able to naturally evolve inside the real world without Calumon around. It seems that regardless of universe or world you're currently in, befriending one can help you attain your partner's adult evolution faster so Calumon here is really valuable despite being unable to evolve or fight and I can easily see a villain rounding them up and level farming with them
