After previews for a bit, we have the big update for the US release of Special Booster 1.5 for the Digimon Card Game.
The card list on the Digimon Card Game website updated with all of them. We're including images of all the cards they are listing.
We are also including promo cards that are coming out in tandem with 1.5, or around the same time (basically any that are on the official site after the early release of 1.0.)
The full embeds are smaller images from the gallery, linking to the full size ones when you click them. The set name links to the gallery.
Special Booster 1.5 is scheduled for release March 12th, 2021 (a short delay from the original February date.) Call or contact a local shop to find out further details.
As for the cards themselves...
First up, the booster pack!
Special Booster Set 1.5 is the second half of 'catch up' using cards from the first 3 Japanese boosters. All of them retain their original numbering. These are a selection of cards from all 3 Boosters, not complete sets of them. Special Booster Set 1.5, and it's counterpart Special Booster Set 1.0 contain all the cards from the first 3 Japanese booster sets.
Special Booster Set 1.5 contains 152 cards.
Each 12 card booster pack is $4. There are multiple pack designs using art from the second and third Japanese booster sets.
The rarity distribution is:
Common- 64 cards
Uncommon- 40 cards
Rare- 35 cards
Super Rare- 10 cards
Secret Rare- 3 cards
We've put them in 3 groups based on the original booster they are from...
Booster Set 1- New Evolution
Booster Set 2- Ultimate Power
Booster Set 3- Union Impact
Those are the main lineup of cards you can expect to find at random in Special Booster 1.0 booster packs.
Then there are alternate art cards. Each of these cards were included in distribution of Boosters 1 through 3 in Japan, often as extremely rare bonus items.
Alternate art cards have different artwork, but the same number as an existing card. For gameplay purposes they are considered the exact same card.
Alternate Art Digimon Cards- Each box includes, as a box topper, an alternate art version of 1 of 6 Digimon cards. These were all box toppers for Booster Sets 3 in Japan.
Buying 12 packs of Booster Set 1.5 gets you a dash pack. Each dash pack contains 1 of the alternate art cards shown above. All 5 of these were extra rare cards that were distributed in Booster Sets 1 and 3 in Japan.
These 10 alternate art cards don't have an announced way to get them that we are aware of at the moment. They may simply be mixed in with the normal cards in the booster packs. All of these were extra rare cards that were distributed in Booster Sets 2 and 3 in Japan.
And last up, promo cards!
These 6 promo cards are being included with Special Booster Set 1.5 as a special additional box topper (they were also for 1.0). Each box comes with one pack of these, and each pack has 2 cards at random.
These are the same 6 cards included with 1.0, also as box toppers. The 1 change is parts of the Tai Kamiya (V-Tamer) card has been rewritten to clarify it's use. Both the original and revised printing are treated with the revised rules for gameplay.
All 6 of these cards had their Japanese equivalents given away with issues of V-Jump or Saikyo Jump in sets of 2.
The Memorial Pack features the 4 cards that were chosen based on fans voting for their favorite scene from Adventure, 02, tri., and Kizuna. In Japan each was a participation gift at different events.
To get these cards you purchase 12 booster packs of 1.0 or 1.5 (receiving the dash pack from that booster), along with 4 boosters of the other booster pack of. You get one Memorial Pack that has 1 of the 4 cards.
(These cards don't have larger versions on the card game site yet, the largest versions available are here and will be swapped out when possible.)
These 3 promo cards are parallel cards of cards from the first 3 starter decks. They will be given out as participation gifts at Tamer Party events at local shops. In Japan these cards were given away as purchase bonus for various apparel items.
For safety reasons stores will have leeway to just make them giveaways if events can't be held safely.
Tournament Kit 1 will be distributed to stores so they can hold tournaments with participation gifts and prizes for the winners. The kits are setup for a number of different tournament formats, or based on safety, as giveaways.
These 8 cards, from Tournament Pack 1, are the participation prize. Each Tournament Pack comes with 1 of the 8 cards. In Japan they were given away as the black/purple promo pack.
These 4 cards, Tamer Battle Pack 1, are the winner's prize. Each Battle Pack includes 1 of the 4 cards. In Japan the Battle Pack was a participation gift, and included all 4 cards.
A little under 2 months until most of these are out, so nice to get them all a bit early.
I wouldn't be shocked if something above is broken or missing, as it was a lot to keep track of...
