Digimon Card Battle 75- Sayaka Strengthening Project Part 2, Jesmon X Preview, & Goodbye to Goto P

Digimon Card Battle is back with episode 75!

This time they return to the Sayaka Strengthening Project, to help Sayaka improve her skills.




This time she uses a different color than her preferred red decks.

There is a match, where they show her ways to improve as they go, then after that they appear to mock up a few things to see how she's able to deal with them.





And after the match we get a card preview for Booster Set 10 Xros Encounter during the post match housekeeping (going over products, etc.)

This time we get a preview of Jesmon X, featuring some very detailed, shiny, and pointy artwork.

A bit extra in this one...

While this was a minimal cast episode, towards the end everyone pops up, including Digimon Card Game producer Goto P.

Goto P is leaving the Digimon Card Game team, and the Card Battle cast was there to send him off.


Card Battle cast member Maguro later posted to Twitter that Goto P was leaving to work on another card game, and he was sending him off with a smile, no matter where he'd go in the future after leaving the Digimon Card Game. He also thanked Goto P for taking good care of him and that he was very happy. Sayaka also tweeted that Goto P's smiles were always a help. Aoyama also tweeted that she looked forward to playing the new game with Goto P.

The game he left for being referenced looks to be the new One Piece card game launching soon. Early planning for the game also appears to be why Goto P had been making less appearances in various promotional things lately, owing to less time.

I was hoping Jesmon X would be better, it's worse than the two Jesmon cards and there isn't really much reason to evolve the actual Jesmon into him so the best thing is to just evolve it from SaviorHuckmon and get the free Sistermon summon. It's not worth losing the effects regular Jesmon has to evolve him into this one outside of I guess maybe a super niche instance where all your Digimon are stronger than the opponent's Digimon and so instead of killing their security you kill their digimon instead but that doesn't seem like something that'd happen often enough to actually be a viable strategy so yeah... i guess this can just act as a third Jesmon in which it's second effect isn't worth using due to it being worse than the already existing Jesmons we have. Piercing is nice... but the original Jesmon already has it. I don't feel like his has a place in my deck when the other two Jesmon already exist and then there's cards like Gallantmon that are much better lv6 Red Digimon than this one. Plus you can get his effect by just having a second Sistermon out, doesn't even need to evolve from Jesmon to use his effects... also, the effect only lasts one turn as well compared to the permanent effect of the other two Jesmons.

Lol tbh it doesn't even really need much, if any, support, the last two events I went to I won the entire thing unbeaten without losing a single round (so 2-0 in every match) and that even had me against some hybrid decks which are the main meta, Jesmon is still crazy.

Or well, I guess it does since SviorHuckmon gets limited in just two short weeks... ah, losing that double attack per turn sure will be fun to not have that any more. I find it unfair that in Japan they got a new SavorHuckmon shortly after his limiting and we have to wait till October for the new one, really have to weaken my deck for 6 months

Also after more thinking I guess the best way to use this card is as a Judgement of the Blade replacement but even then you'd be best limiting it to the final attack since after you do your attack you've now lost regular Jesmon's effects from using it.

That's thing thing though, the original Jesmon card has piercing as well and you can only do this unsuspended attack once. The other two Jesmon summon a Sistermon every turn (two per turn if you evolve it from the original SaviorHuckmon who unfortunately is limited to 1 in two weeks) whilst this can only summon a Sistermon once when it comes in and that's it, it basically becomes a vanilla in its second turn out. If you're already summoning multiple Sisters as a result of regular Jesmons spamming them then attacking multiple unsuspended Digimon doesn't actually matter since you can just instead ram the 10 Sisters you now have into their security to win. It's not worth losing the access to a free Sistermon every turn from the original two Jesmon cards.

Unless of course, that second effect can be used every turn? as far as I'm aware it'd only work the turn it digivolves and then you can't use it again

If you have lets say 5 Digimon out, you can just throw them into their security and win. I can defo see times where maybe the opponents Digimon is scary so you play him to get rid of it (i usually Gaia Force them as the 8 memory is worth it to kill their guy) as a Judgement of the Blade replacement. that's the way I'm gonna use it because it can replace jotb and be searched by Huckmon. It's not like the Sisters can run over many Digimon though with such low DP

They want people who picked up the Jesmon starter deck to then pick up this set as well in the hopes of getting a Jesmon X. With Jesmon starter decks out there more people will play Jesmon decks so they'll prob think hey let's get that Jesmon X as well.

Which is funny because the official statement of why SaviorHuckmon was being limited was that too many people were playing Jesmon decks, so Savior is being hit to have other decks be played so why give the deck you don't want people playing so much new support... sounds like that wasn't actually the truth Bandai... no surprise you hit Savior then give a new one in the starter deck just after limiting it, forcing Jesmon players to get the new SaviorHuckmon as well as the new starter deck Jesmon beimg more powerful than the old one from BT5. Srsly, that does not line up with them saying Savior was limited to get more deck variety in tournies it was just hitting a card to force said players to buy new ones for more money. I guess they maybe also didn't want this guy to be used alongside four BT5 SavoirHuckmons as this guy is out after the ban list dropped

Yeah, GX is actually an evolution of X, because Jesmon got Protagonist Privileges since the Royal Knights were basically the main characters of Chronicle X Ver 2.
