Digimon Card Battle 74- Starter Deck 12 & 13 Match & Minervamon Preview

Digimon Card Battle is back with episode 74!

This time we get a one off match, and before the match is an in-depth look at the new Starter Decks, out today in Japan.




Cards in these matches are up through Starter Decks 12 and 13, which is the focus of the episode.

The match is Aoyama vs. Chiba.





And after the match we get a card preview for Booster Set 10 Xros Encounter during the post match housekeeping (going over products, etc.)

This time we get a preview of Minervamon, featuring fun cartoony art, with a nice overall look.

Shortly after the episode better quality versions (with sample text) was put up by the Digimon Card Twitter. Both versions of each are included above.

Definitely making a purple deck now. However, purple is my least used color by far, so it might take time getting used to.

That's a really cute looking minervamon art. I wonder if Mervamon is lv7 or a lv6 that evolves from a lv6. Being lv7 would be neat, though it's probably going to be seen more of a Burst Mode than an Ultra.

I always forget Minervamon is a thing considering we also have Mervamon. Cool thing with the whole On Deletion this card can become Mervamon essentially.

I'll be curious to see how this card gets played as it doesn't look like it neatly slots into either a Xros Heart Deck (of which Mervamon will likely have the Trait) nor a Twilight Deck even if we get JetMervamon. I imagine it'll most likely see play as a splashable card put into Purple focused decks.

Oh yes Minervamon! *Reads this effect mentioning Mervamon* WTF?!! Oh well this revealed card had me made the final decision to buy this 10th booster boxes in total 2! Just make sure to collect specific ones!

I don't really see why it'd counter my Jesmon deck other than I guess you could suicide your Minervamon to kill Jesmon on purpose but that'd be the case for any powerful Digimon. The Mervamon effect wouldn't be relevant if you have like 4 Sisters out cuz then you have too many guys. Generally I have not just Jesmon but multiple Sisters and a few Hackmons out as well so I think the Mervamon death effect would be difficult to pull off. I suppose that opponents turn thing doesnt seem to be once per turn but I'm sure there's plenty of ways to get around her such as just Gaia Forcing it if need be

Ceresmon has a card, and some Digimon not in the DRB like Bacchusmon, Hyokomon, and Tinmon have been seen in the background of cards.

This is great, decks were getting too fast. I'm looking forward to using this effect. I wonder if it might be decent with Cerberumon shenanigants. Also I didn't even notice she was standing on top of DinoRexmon, that makes this art even cooler! I love DinoRexmon.

I keep hoping for a special digimon profile, or an Olympos XII card game set to introduce them all already to it. They will be relevant in the next Story game, so I hope at least till then they are added.
