digimoncardbattle_v2_64_02_february3_2022.jpg

This time they do a couple weeks they are calling Ladies Battles, featuring the women of Card Battle. (And I believe this is Miyano formally joining Card Battle as a player?)

Cards are up to date with Booster EX-02.

The match this time is Aoyama vs. Miyano.

Also after the match get a card preview for Booster Set 9 X Record during the post match housekeeping (going over products, etc.)

We get a preview of Alphamon: Ouryuken.

Not a huge shock for a card we knew was coming, but still very pretty artwork.

Previous previews for Booster Set 9 X Record:

Booster Set 9 X Record will be out on February 25th in Japan.

More next time!

What does it do?

Can I abuse raidenmon and dorugoramon to create the ultimate boss monster?

From the background looks like another Chronicles reference with him fighting in the Skuld Terminal.

jesus christ, do you see that digivolution cost??

Alphamon: Ouryuken
[This card can digivolve from [Alphamon] for 3 memory when [Ouryumon] is in its digivolution cards]
[When Digivolving] Delete all of your opponent's Digimon with the highest play cost.
[End of Your Turn] [Once Per Turn] You may return up to 7 non-Digi-Egg cards with [X-Antibody] in their traits from this Digimon's digivolution cards to the bottom of their owners' decks in any order to gain 1 memory for each card returned.

That artist is really good for drawing Alphamon in this art.

Nice!

Does that mean if you gain enough Memory, you could end your opponent's turn as soon as their Main Phase begins, or would tipping it over 0 negate your turn ending? And if the former, would a Tamer Card that sets your Memory to 3 at the start of your turn basically counter it?

So you can combine alphamon Ouryuken and yuji to just have an infinite turn.

Why even include the "non-Digi-Egg" clause, there's only like one or two Level IIs with that clause across the entire franchise.

They still exist, and they'll most likely be used in the very same "X-Antibody" decks that use Alphamon: Ouryuken. This is especially so when Dorimon and Kyokyomon both have effects that benefit from adding Evolution Bases (which seems to be a main gimmick of "X-Antibody" decks).

They most likely want you to earn those Evolution Bases, while the Digi-Egg cards are basically free.

From what I can tell, it's still possible to get 7 Evolution Bases with "X-Antibody" without the Digi-Eggs, even without some complicated process. Using Dorumon's line as an example:
  1. Dorumon
  2. Raptordramon
  3. Grademon (BT9-064)
  4. Evolution Base added through Grademon's effect
  5. Alphamon (BT9-066)
  6. Evolution Base added through Alphamon's effect
  7. X-Antibody (BT9-109 Option card)

You can use DORUgoramon and the Yuji tamer to add bases when attacking as well, meaning its pretty easy to meat the conditions.

The end of your turn is negated. We saw this also for many other effects (see for example Darkdramon or Lilithmon while using an option). The rules say that your turn effectively ends only when all the ongoing effects are resolved and the Memory counter is at your opponent's side.

probably specifies that as you cant add the digitama to the main deck
