Digimon Card Battle is back with episode 46!

This week Digimon Card Battle has a more standard match.





The match this time has all cards that have been released up until now able to be used.

Before the match they go over some of their cards and other details.

The match is Yamadeya vs. Chiba.



After the match a special guest shows up!

Yes, it's that well known Digimon from Xros Wars... Monitamon! Kind of.



Also after the match, we get the first card preview for Starter Deck 10 during the post match housekeeping (going over products, etc.)

Mastemon! Some great art of Mastemon, plus our first look at how multi-color cards will appear (just having multiple colors behind the name.) The card looking pixelated is how it appears on the show.

On top of that, we get a look at the logos and packaging for the 2 new starter decks, plus a peek at more art from the set...


Starter Deck 9 Ultimate Ancient Dragon and Starter Deck 10 Tactician from Another World will be out on October 29th.

[When Digivolving] Place 1 Yellow or Purple Digimon card from your trash at the top of your security stack. Then, if this Digimon digivolved using <DNA Digivolve>, you may look at your security stack. Play 1 Lv. 5 or lower Digimon card among them without paying its memory cost. Then, shuffle your security stack.
[All Turns] When you play another Digimon by an effect, delete 1 of your opponent's Digimon with a level equal to or lower than the played Digimon.

yeah i feel the sudden transition from color 1 to coor 2 is a bit too harsh... its not as bad i feel on this card since we only have a name block really (and some trim) but i'm worried about the ones with more of a text box cause that feels like it'll be hard on the eyes they should of dome some blending or something.

A real Jogress evolution? I was not anticipating that. So BT8 will include both jogress (presumably) and armor evolution as new mechanics? Yeah, this is exciting. Jogress alone opens a lot of new doors.
The card is promising, if there's a way to make it work properly.

getting Jogress effects to work does seem a bit tricky with all the removal options every card had which makes me excited to potentially see really powerful Jogress bonuses.
This Mastemon card seems like it could work in a LordKnightmon deck as that deck is all about cheating cards play so you'd be activating that [All Turns] effect a lot

I was excited for the true multi-colour cards, but was not expecting Jogress as a keyword.

I expect ST9-10 are going to work very similarly to the EX1 Imperialdramon line.
In ST10, with Mastemon being ST10-06, it seems like Plotmon will be 01, with the two Tailmon and the Mastemon components being 02 to 05. Based on EX1 cards, the Tailmon and up would be able to evolve from yellow and purple, without being multi-colour.
For ST9, I think it’ll work similarly, with Wormmon as a Level 3. Maybe Veemon too, but maybe not. ExVeemon, Stingmon, Paildramon, and DinoBeemon would work similarly to their EX1 counterparts, but Paildramon and DinoBeemon would have the Jogress effects. Imperialdramon would be the multi-colour card of the deck, but wouldn’t have the Jogress effect.
Both decks will have reprints, as should be obvious with Mastemon only being 06. 07 and on could be another Level 6 Digimon, a Tamer card, and/or an Option card, so there could be many reprints or very few.

We’ll see how close I am in like a week or so I suspect.

That Monitamon cosplay got me gal'. I really see Bandai releasing a spoofy Digimon based on it in the same line as Betsumon. I wonder why Mastemon being a an Ultimate level is just "06" in ST-10 instead of "12" or "13". I guess there's room for more evos in this set.

I hope it's not the case. It hasn't been in any Starter pack so far as long as I am aware, plus what a wasted potential it'd be. Following the theme of the set, I reckon Ofanimon (Falldown Mode) & Lilithmon may be the other Ultimate-level Digimon. That would be neat
