Digimon Card Battle is back with episode 33!

This week Digimon Card Battle continues the series of Booster Set 6 matches that began last week.




The blue and red teams continue to face off and we get 2 matches this week!

Before the match they go over some of their cards and other details.

The first match is between Hideyoshi and Maguro.
The second match is Iwai and Rocks Chiba.



And after the match we get some new info for Booster EX-01 Classic Collection during the post match housekeeping (going over products, etc.)

A first look at the Japanese Booster Pack packaging. This basically matches what we saw for the English version previously, with the main different being the different logo.

In addition, they mention the art being from the reference book and prior cards. So hopefully we see a few bits of art that were card specific.


And then we get our first card preview for Booster EX-01!

MetalGarurumon! MetalGarurumon gets his reference book artwork on this card, along with a background featuring binary code.


Booster EX-01 Classic Collection will be out on July 30th in Japan.

Now I think about it, Classic Collection set may be good for me to make up. Because I really disliked how they handled the old digital card battle series into 3D models. I was super depressed not able to collect WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon with their official arts in the 3rd series set.

We've consistently had such great new artwork for the tcg so revisiting these is a little meh for me.

I agree. It was fine as long as they were limited alternative arts for one or two Digimon, but I'm not a fan of an entire separate set. Still curious to see what kind of effects the cards received.

Damn, that first match was hilarious. The zoom in on Hideyoshi's face when he realised that this was a Mirror Match was perfect. I couldn't help but laugh when he kept spamming BeelStarmon for 0 Cost everytime it looked like Maguro got rid of her. Though I suppose karma struck in the end when Hideyoshi ended up Decking Out.

I don't get what you mean about 3D. Like, the MetalGarurumon look from its card of the old TCG looks exactly like this, in 2D.

I'm talking about Booster 3 series and beyond from Japan to English, it had to turned into lame 3D images slapped on the cards instead of their official arts after Booster 2 series even the whole card and the background of the card's back. They looked more... Childish.
