Well, a very good final fight, abbadomon core have feets! its not a tiny body in a big ball, yes! i think that making him similar to omegamon was positive, the fight was very good, it was years, since savers i didnt enjoyed a digimon fight like i enjoyed this. I want so badly abbadomon as a boss in a future digimon game.
I was a little worried with omegamon evolving into alter-S bc i didnt see any logic to that, but now i can see it as a slide evolution instead of regular evolution, and it works pretty good, Omegamon is formed by wargreymon and metalgarurumon, wich are evolutions of agumon and gabumon, that in some point of their adventure evolved to blitzgreymon and cresgarurumon, sooo its like omegamon had access to that info from wargrey and metalgaruru, and then side evolved into alter-S.
What was weird and also epic was the two cannon and two swords forms.
Very satisfied on the good treatment that both garuru arms recieved, usually the garuru arm is overshadowed by its greymon counterpart, but this time i felt a true balance.
Last but not least: Leomon survived!

BRAVOOOOOO!!!!!! WOOOOOWWWW!!!! Loved this episode!!!!! Animation! Action!!! wow! Teamwork!! I don't know where to start, but here it is. The fight sequence was immense! Loved it! I also really appreciated that they still had the others fight too outside of the sphere to later lend their powers to Omegamon again. So in a sense, everyone contributed to the defeat of Addadomon. The Garuru Cannon was ALIVE and kicking boy! I was amazed at the new techniques showcased by it here. Addadomon was also impressive with so many attacks, his entire body had so many surprises and defenses which I really liked. The way the series ended was perfect! Leomon survived too!!!!! and the chosen kids still remained with their partners - which I'm happy about. The digital gate tease was amazing too. I feel we might get a sequel series in the future. I hope, if we do, they focus more on the chosen's relationships in the real world and explore more with their partner Digimons' different types of evolutions from the mega level, so we can see their Megas more.

Overall it was exciting, fulfilling, action-packed, heartwarming, and a great end to an exciting series run. A +++

The design of Abaddomon being a twisted reflection of Omegamon is quite poetic. I don't know if it's intentional that even the placements of its arms are opposite to Omegamon's arms, like a mirror.
Additionally, the concept of dividing its themes of eyes and mouths between both halves is an ingenious parallel to Omegamon's division between Garurumon and Greymon.

What I found really interesting is that they subverted Omegamon's signature final stab. The ending blow that killed Diablomon and Algomon; Abaddomon avoided it. Not only that, it used that stab as an opportunity to turn the tables against Omegamon.
Including this psych-out, much of Abaddomon's abilities seem to be meant to specifically counter Omegamon. Its eyes seem to function as a point-defense system that guards against Omegamon's missiles, while its own missiles counter Omegamon's Brave Shield.

After all of the early hints in various media, and the prior appearances of BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon; I wasn't expecting to be surprised by Alter-S's appearance, but this build-up with Abaddomon really set it up in an amazing way.

The partial transformations between dual-swords and dual-cannons was great. It showcases the arms of Alter-S, while still giving attention to the original Omegamon's arms. It doesn't show Alter-S as being particularly superior to regular Omegamon. Instead, it emphasizes the advantages of the flexibility and versatility of being able to switch both arms between sword and cannon, to the point that Abaddomon was unable to respond against it.
Abaddomon could counter regular Omegamon, but it couldn't answer to dual-swords, dual-cannons, or Alter-S.

The end of a Digimon show, and the first time in nearly 20 years that another show is getting a handoff and beginning!

Starting with the OP, the one thing Adventure: has unquestionable been great at is music. I would have preferred a 2nd OP start up at some point, but this was a great way to start the series at the beginning, and sitting through it again at the end is nice. Glad they killed the 'with sound effects' versionit just didn't work.

And hey look, Omegamon. Starting off calm is certainly a way to do it.

The final version/form of Negamon's evolutions that they battle being a 'mock' Omegamon was an interesting visual to go with. Especially doing it all teeth, mouth, eyes. Worked for the visual I think.

The Omegamon logo appearing on devices lol

Abaddomon Core talking simply worked from a creepy perspective, but it does continue the theme that many of the villains in teh end didn't talk as much as might have been nice. You miss the talky guys when they don't show up much.

Everyone gets a part to play, yay!

And that orchestral Break the Chain! So good.

Newly animated Omegamon attacks! The battle really looks great.

The episode is doing a great job of showing why Omegamon always gets people amped up in the end. It's exciting just to see the guy work and be there, especially with how nice everyone looks. We don't tend to see him 'quite' so much, which means he's getting different action poses, and it just looks so good! And they do some shots out of Our War Game, adding in some nice familiarness to it.

Core biting the sword was a great twist, even if a relatively basic one. It worked well visually and with the audio after.

And hey look, the crests! Everyone gets their lines as you'd expect while they are fighting Pac-Man.

And then we get the 'new' 'new' Break the Chain as Alter-S shows up. Takayoshi Tanimoto confirmed this is all newly recorded from him, with a new arrangement from the composer from Xros Wars, so some sort of Break the Chain multi-song CD is likely coming soon.

The evolution happening in the midst of animation as things are happening was a pretty amazing way to show it happening, with the smoke reveal of Alter-S.

One last struggled and attempt to change forms from our villain and the final strike from Alter-S blows Omegamon back to normal.

And Omegamon gets to muse on the potential of Negamon being reborn, and that potential being good, bad, an unlimited potential.

And hey... only half over.

Binary and Hosodanet style outlines. And everyone gets to talk now.

The Digivices shine, Valdrmon and our voice cameos return, things begin to go back to normal in both worlds.

The talking as things go back to normal was all very cute and fun.

Back in the digital world, all shiny and new, with the story being told by Wisemon. Komondomon is resting. Lopmon and other characters we saw passing it along more.

Leomon telling the story also, about his friends.

The human and digital worlds are 'more' connected now is a nice inverse of what we often see as the evil gets wiped away. And we see a digiegg crack open as we continue to see various characters from throughout the show.

BanchoMamemon graduated! Mimi statue! Burgers and fries! The theme park. Catching up with 'everyone' is a nice way to end everything. Even Guardromon and Andromon.

And then someone asks what happened to the kids after the adventure...

The kids are back in the real world... with their Digimon.

And Gabumon has a disguise that isn't gonna fool many.

Koushiro setting up a digital gate.

Taichi laying in the grass under a tree, in the digital world with Agumon.

And they go walking off. It appears the adventure isn't over.

One more encyclopedia. Finishing off with Koromon, where everything started.

And Koushiro says goodbye and that they will see everyone again someday.

The show had a lot of rough (really rough) bits in the middle. But it started amazingly, and ended amazingly well to be honest. It's more than most shows get.

me and my friend watched this whole season together and we both agree it lacked in quite a few departments but otherwise was pretty decent as a season and have hopes GG wont follow in the same way. We also hope we get another season of re:a down the line cuz of how lacking and empty it felt with the characters, they felt too 1 dimensional and honestly it was aggravating to see tai in literally every episode. like if he didnt have anything to contribute to that episode why does he have to be there? each of the characters were strong on their own in their own rights and didnt need the main protag there backing them up or cheering them on.

thats what made the og series so good, the tension between the characters, the fact we got to see their home lives and the relationships they had outside of eachother. matt felt like such a far cry from his old counterpart, hes one of the main protags for gods sake lol like give him something?? He was overprotecting and didnt get along with tai and thats what made him feel real, he was kind of a jerk in the old season but he grew as a character, and his crest really represented that. in this season they really didnt make him that distant as a character, nor did it feel like he really earned the crest he was given.

its hard to recommend the reboot to anyone because theyll most likely be let down if you give it any major praise. aside from the animation and the wide range of digimon and digivolutions we got was nice (and leomon not dying for once). It did end up feeling a bit too shonen-ey than isekai-ey like it was originally in the old seasons. it may be a subpar standalone season but i think its good a start to something bigger (hopefully toei doesnt drop the ball on it given its toei).

The Gazimon dressed as Etemon really through me for a loop. For a second there I thought it was either a new Digimon dropped for no reason into a background shot or it was the snub-nosed monkey Digimon from that Chinese manga.

This show... This episode was exactly what it needed to be and while the characters aren't as defined as the original all of these similar beats hit just as well because the adventure itself was just as grand. Seeing the final montage of the digital world made me realize that the setting over all was pretty fleshed out and that put in a lot of work for making this episode feel satisfying. This series has the energy I want from an anime so I hope the if they choose to continue it later down the line, it will keep that same spark and build up from there.

LEOMON LIVES!

A great feel-good action episode all around, and a total reversal of the original series' ending, cementing this series as the ultimate "similar, but different" retelling of the beloved OG Adventure.

Just a few points...

> ALTER-S, BABY! I bet all the people that gave up on it are relieved, and I'm glad I never gave up hope for such an appearance.
> Having the Abaddomon Core fight be a mirror-match against Omegamon was a very nice touch
> Seeing all the Digimon that our heroes encountered in their journey living it up after Abaddomon's defeat is such a nice sight to see in this franchise
> Seeing all the Chosen Children Digimon appear in the real world with their associated humans was a nice, feel-good touch
> Seeing Taichi stay in the Digital World for adventure was pretty typical at this point, but no-less fitting for this series
> Seeing Abaddomon given a second-chance at life despite being touted as the end of all living things, to be given a chance to live as it wants beyond the reasons of good or evil - this was the most fitting end for such a force of destruction, and a great last line for Omegamon...
> ...yeah, I know that last point is an anime trope so old that it's fossil fuel, but I loved seeing it here!

Cheers to the end of Adventure 2020! You had your ups and downs, and you debatably fall short compared to the original series, but when you shined, you shined brilliantly.

And now, for Ghost Game! :D

An interesting thing to note is that the Digimoji that appears on Omegamon's Grey Sword at the very end of the battle says "ALL RECOVER".

Yesss it was so good!
Abaddomon Core looks awesome! I cant wait for its DRB entry (Hopefully alongside Kuzurumon)
Omegamon using his own versions of Garuru Tomahawk and Brave Shield was extremely cool! Wonder what other moves from his components he can perform
Alter S did come, like promised by the Digivice! Loved when he dual wielded both Swords and both guns before the transformation
Is this the first time weve seen regular omegamon use All Delete? Also Im glad we finally saw it in 2D animation, pretty sure all other times were in 3D
This epilogue was real nice! Loved the Mimi-Koushiro company trying to create the digital gates, very interesting!
Taichi pulling a Masaru was really unexpected! Wonder if hes testing Koushiros gate or if hes gonna live there now. The Watanabe twitter art makes it look like the latter

Im glad they absolutely stuck the landing on the very out-of-course ship that was this series haha. Though it does make me wish such a cool ending was attached to a smoother series, cuz Id love to see them follow through with the Digital Gates thing~
Overall, Im glad this series happened tho. Episodes like this, the Dandevimon one, the Ponchomon one and the Rebellimon one had some of the coolest animations from this series; and some of the filler eps were a joy to sit through

Onwards to GG hype!

This show, despite my many, many greivances with its pacing, story, and especially its characterization, is consistently good at delivering good action when it counts and this is no exception. That said, I can't do it. I can't muster up any emotion other than a resounding "meh". This show is mediocre, and I would never consider putting it in my top 5 Digimon series. Probably not even top 10 should we reach that point. I wanted to like this. It started off great. But once we hit the mid-10s, it felt like the show's quality kept fluctuating until I just stopped caring. I can't even care Leomon survived. He was so irrelevant, it wouldn't have made much of an impact if he did.

Omegamon Alter-S's battle seemed to be animated by Trigger (got a lot of Kill la Kill vibes)

Everyone saying the series tagline really got me right in heart, as well as an ending where the humans DON'T separate from their Digimon actually makes it a sweet ending.

Also, there seemed to be some sequel seeding with Mimi and Koshiro working on a Digital Gate (a la Zero Two). Also, are Taichi and Agumon still stuck in the Digital World?

Overall, I think this series was done fairly well, in terms of trying to tell a new story with already existing characters. It's always hard to separate this series from the 90's series, but I think it was fairly cohesive plot and ended in a nice way.

Yeah exactly, that's what I loved about Alter-S evolution here, the flexibility between regular Omegamon and Alter-S worked really well, and with the final blow it's All delete seems to be.

I didn't keep up with Adventure 2020 all the way through, giving up at around episode 25 I think. This was probably the weakest overall cast a season/series had gotten in the anime and the repetitive nonstop battles with only the barest of characterization was draining. Made more obnoxious by the fact they the just used the Adventure cast again when they could have at least made up a new cast or just have Tai be the only character or something. Oh well, marketing.

It does at least have it's moments by having the occasional episode that's just cool visually (the rebelimon episode) or having ones that are just a wacky 22 minutes (most of mimi's episodes, that one episode about Joe and the fries.) and I can't deny I was able to enjoy them, but that was only in isolation, via word of mouth. There just wasn't much of anything there to really sink my teeth into week to week.

That said I did watch these last two episodes because if I can count on this show for one thing, it's to do something that looks cool and pretty, and at the very least it fulfilled that promise. Seeing Omegamon in an actual fight where it does more than just nuke everything was nice and was a solid sequence in it's own right. The shield of courage deflection and the stuff with it's cape were my favorite parts. Also hey the kids got to keep their partners this time! I'm pretty alright with this, there's nothing about the characters or story that would actually make me feel sad at them having to part so letting them have a happy sappy ending is perfectly fine with me. Still, it wouldn't have made the ending any worse if there was an actual reason for me to care about any of the cast.

Hopefully the kids this show was made for had a fun time, and more power to anybody else who was able to get anything out of this run.

Oh yeah, congrats on going a whole season without dying Leomon! šŸ¾
