Another episode I feel torn on.

It was a delightful and fun one of side episode with a lot of fun character bits. Exactly what I want to see.

Except the actual plot stuff doesn't quite feel it's happened worthwhile enough to make the episode feel like a fun side episode.

It's energy feels lessened by the show itself not moving along how I'd prefer for the ongoing elements.

The episode itself was nice and fun though. Appearances big and small by Digimon we don't often see... both big and small.

Multiple guest Digimon had voices full of personality, and some of them had interesting character bits (Gaosmon just standing on Tyranomon to make himself appear larger was a good touch, and hey look... Tyranomon showed up.)

Agumon just... walking past the guards was a delight. All the little character beats they wanted to hit clearly hit, but it goes back to the issue of the series itself not fitting what this episode was doing.

And Jou the butt actually worked well this time (done more amusing by Gomamon trying to imitate him, and then the question goes to if Gomamon could have just left on his own at any time, since he left on his own at the end anyways.)

I enjoyed the episode. I just would have enjoyed it even more if it was built as a 'break' episode in a more setup structure.

I went into this ep partially excited to see a really obscure Digimon get focus. What I got was said Digimon being ignored mainly in favor of two Digimon we've seen before. At least Nohemon got something out of it.

This episode is a nice little breather for next week's more plot heavy episode, although it is still a bit oddly placed imo. Maybe this is Taichi's personal filler episode, like what the other kid's got earlier?

It was really neat to see a handful of Digimon that never get any spotlight, and also I liked the little touch that Nohemon can basically control any body that he perches on top of.

I think my overall feelings for this episode is, while enjoyable, it would've been better placed earlier.

Oddly this episode didn't have any real threats but it was only a turf war for... Water.

I finally got to see Nohemon but it felt like Nohemon is way weaker even if it's not broken than Numemon to compare in the battle capabilities.
"The true form" is that scarecrow puppet bird is actually using the rag doll and doing the most of works... I imagined it from Nohemon's profile but to think the bird is totally defenseless without the puppet body.... I wonder how do they handle it like that...

Oh it turned out as Gaossmon didn't evolve but using Tyranomon to look bigger. I lol'ed at Tyranomon actually ruined the foods by just going with the flow after the accidental hit.

Judging those "bosses", it's some kind of deformed dino bosses. That's... Interesting?

Nothing important in this episode but it's alright. Good thing Nohemon spared Tyranomon.

I really enjoyed this episode, but it felt like it should have been much earlier. The lack of Ultimate level threats, barely using Komondomon, and just vaguely referencing the lightning. I wonder if this episode was written a while back, but they couldn’t get it done due to a lack of voice actors? A LOT of the earlier episodes had non speaking villains, so this obviously wouldn’t have worked then.

Even the recap felt out of place, since it focused on just the big moments.

Ever since the Etemon episode, the CCs seem to have taken Etemon’s statement to heart. They’re no longer cleaving a path of blood through the land.

I'm legitimately baffled by how this episode came about in the writing room.

A: "Listen, there's this Digimon, who was like an easter egg in a toy. AkameDekachimon. He's a big guy, but get this: He has MiniDekachimon in his mouth, who is a little guy."
B: "Ok, I'm following"
A: "So what, if we make the Dekachi's have a rivalry with another gang of two other Digimon over dunno, water supplies. Another big guy and a little guy. Like say, Tyranomon and Gaossmon."
B: "Mhm."
A: "But wait there's more: There's this Digimon, Nohemon. He's like a little crow puppet attached to a big guy scarecrow and he's the original guardian of the water supplies."
B: "Ok."
A: "But get this: Agumon and Gomamon evolve so Taichi and Joe can ride on them..."
B: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
A: "Yeah, more little guys riding on big guys! The whole episode is just little guys riding big guys duking it out!"
B: "Whatever. Do what you want! We just need to fill in a 20 minute saturday slot. By episode 48 it won't matter anyway."

But hey do appreciate my boy Tyranomon making a comeback in this one.

Maybe placed elsewhere an episode like this could've worked much better but we were finally getting to the plot the previous ep and this was a significant step backwards. Sephirothmon > Mugendramon would've flowed better. Genuinely don't know why the pacing is so willfully bad.

Were the Dekachi's not already a thing for many many years, I might see it that way
Pretty sure they just wanted their silly dinos to clash

A fun, silly little episode.

Loved all the dinos appearing, especially Gaossmon who didn't get to do much during XW. One thing I will say about Adventure: is that it really brings to light forgotten Digimon and now I'm definitely more interested in Nohemon after its cool portrayal here.

Next episode though, Machinedramon! His time has come.

I have mixed feelings on this episode. The concept isn't bad. It was interesting to see two villains pretending to be larger than they really are and Taichi teaching Nohemon to be brave. However, it came at the wrong time, IMO l. We had several filler episodes before last week's. It felt weird to have one again.

Yeah 2020 has had a pacing problem for quite some time, and this episode feels no different. It's not a bad episode but I do agree it would have worked better if they had swapped the placement of it and episode 46 so it could act as a little breather after MetalGarurumon, and cause I get the feeling that Muggendramon showing up is partially cause of Sephirotmon, so having them back to back would give us a payoff for his survival. Although If they chose to do this to stop from pulling another Devimon arc and basically just overdoing the none stop Fighting to the point of Apathy, then my point would be mute, and I could see why they would use this as a little break right before a big action set piece.

I really enjoyed this episode, more than I expected.

Nuhemon was a pretty cool character, and seeing the crow leading a lifeless puppet was as creepy as it was fun.
Same for Gaossmon, seeing a tiny Digimon on top of a Tyranomon hiding under a cloak to appear taller was pretty ridiculous, but it was enough to give the little dinosaur a bit of personality.

I'm glad they made this episode funny, and didn't try to portray the villains as a credible threat.
It changes from the fillers we were entitled to earlier in the series that were very first degree and where the bad guys were big dumb monsters unable to talk.

I liked this episode more than I thought it would.

Plenty of neat character acting and dialogue, a humorous appreciation for some pretty obscure Digimon, and it's a kind of world-building episode that's backed by the antagonist Digimon being greedy jerks instead of mindless monsters. Bonus points for Nohemon's interactions with Taichi in the episode, as well as our heroes actively not trying to kill the episode antagonists!

I appreciate how it's a more light-hearted episode before the plot goes all in on the final act(s), but it still feels weirdly out of place to me - it feels like an episode that should've aired early in the series. That said, this show is almost trying too hard to not be like the original with the way it prioritizes certain episodes.

Also, Tyranomon! Glad to see the OG data dinosaur showing up in this episode and not get deleted. I've always had a soft-spot for 'em. :D

I agree. This episode seems to me like the definition of a filler.

This was the worst episode of the season. Pointless filler in the final quarter.

Meh. The best thing about this episode is that it had Big Head mon and Small Head mon. Really, that's all you could say. ...Maybe this could have been put much earlier in the season.

This episode in a nutshell. Taichi does stupid things, but suffers no real consequences due to the antagonists being equally stupid.
