Details for Japanese Digimon Christmas Contest & Vital Bracelet Special Version Pre-Order Change

A couple updates...

Pre-orders for the special version of the Vital Bracelet will close at 11am at Premium Bandai in Japan temporarily (roughly 20 minutes from the time of this post.)

They will re-open an hour later. This small time hiccup is being done to make clear that when pre-orders reopen the bonus Black Roar trial Dim Card will not be included with new pre-orders.

If you have concerns check with your intermediary.



And there is a big bit of Christmas fun coming soon in Japan...

A big Digimon Christmas contest/campaign has been teased a few times, with new art, and we finally have the details!

The campaign will run December 25th thru 27th on Twitter for those in Japan.

The instructions to enter are rather easy...
1- Follow Digimon Web on Twitter.
2- RT the campaign tweet with the proper hashtag (I believe it wants a quote tweet with the hashtag in it)
3- They will DM the winners. (You have to not unfollow before verification, etc.)


As for how large it is...

For each of the 3 days the campaign is running they are giving away 200 prizes, so 600 total.

The prize list:
1 winner- Figure-rise Standard Amplified Wargreymon & Metalgarurumon model kits, and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.
1 winner- A full set of Ichiban Kuji prizes (all of them, including Last One Omegamon), and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.
1 winner- The Tamers Evolution box, and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.
30 winners- 10 random booster packs from Digimon Card Game booster sets 2, 3, and 4
3 winners- The Switch version of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth- Hackers Memory (named Complete Edition in other countries), and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.
3 winners- A set of all the Adventure: lunch/meal items, and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.
3 winners- A full set of the Adventure: mini plushes plus the larger Patamon one, and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.
5 winners- The recent crane game plushes of Patamon and Gabumon, and a random starter deck (4, 5, or 6) from the Digimon Card Game.

because it matches Pulsemon. Also, I think it’s best to assume the bands are not swappable as they would have mentioned that during the Diginavi or on any of the many promotional materials + if you look at the device itself in the 360 view you don't see any latching system.
This might be better because if the VB came off the band during a rough fall or particularly forceful arm swing when exercising it might seperate your Digimon from your arm and have it be lost forever in a bush or ditch or something

Secondly, I thought they were interchangeable? It looked like there were screw holes or something on the back of the band near the strap.

Yeah good point that would be the worst if it were to come off during some sort of activity. If it did go Into a bush then I would be going in straight after it lol we ride together we die together aha.

We aren't sure if it can be purchased later but what I'm thinking is you will be able to get a black Agumon dim but I'm not sure if it would be called black roar. I wouldn't care as much if I didn't get it if I knew it was gonna come out eventually. But having said that I really do want it.

there have been no official sources I know of saying it can be purchased later but I personally fully believe it can be. The reason I say this is because Black Roar has been called a "trial version" in its advertising which implies that there is a normal version that will be available.
With the Veemon DIM exclusive to the yellow I also believe it will have its own standalone release because I just can't see them not making a Digimon as massively popular as Veemon more accessible down the line, it's way too profitable to not want to make easy money from such a recognizable and loved Digimon.
I see the limited promos as early access, not true exclusives, but again this is my personal speculation with no confirmation on any of this.

Also, we do have confirmation that Digimon you upload from DIMs can be stored in the companion app or up to 2 can be stored on the device itself so if DIMs are not single use, just have your friend let you borrow/trade/buy Black Roar from them after your friend uploads Black Agumon's data. Don't stress this DIM, everything looks in your favor for getting one

Yeah I know heaps of people that got the yellow just for Veemon. It's a shame that they made it a colour a lot of people dislike. But I'm sure there are people out there that love it. If I was you I would have got a colour i liked and got the Veemon dim eventually when it is sold by itself. But if Veemon was a must have for you I understand that aswell.

I ordered the ugly special edition one because Veemon is my all time favorite Digimon by far, and I honestly don't care about the Black Roar DIM Card. My intermediary said I'd get one (but that was before this announcement on day 1 preorders so who knows if that changes) but personally I could take or leave it. I'd probably just sell it honestly.

More importantly, I plan on attempting to dye the stupid band and I'll probably make a YT video about the process when it arrives. I'll see how much of the thing I can tear down and see if the dye will stick, which they should if done correctly. Hopefully I can make it black/dark grey, but at the very least if it becomes like OD green then that's fine too. Fingers crossed lol

After seeing this news yesterday I went ahead and rushed to find somewhere that still had a pre-order with Black Roar up. I ended up getting one from okini.land but wasn't 100% sure whether I'll get the bonus...that said, I'm feeling optimistic because my order mentions "(With Preorder Bonus)" while their current listing doesn't have it.

Ended up pre-ordering the other Dim sets from Amazon.co.jp while I was at it. Hope these don't get too out of hand lol.
