Hi, first time poster, long time lurker(since..god, was it the frontier or savers era?) Before this board existed haha

So I got a broken D-Ark from Mercari and since it was custom painted I wanted to check it out and see what was wrong. Some things inside weren't lined up, like the d-ark terminals for v-pet battles so I took it apart and found its also missing a spring for the pendulum area. But its corrupted. I can see and hear it running normally. I can see part of a line of pixels that seem to be the right pixels in the right place. Any idea what this could be?

So this picture is pretty ugly. since then I've tried to clean the screen (it is scratches so I need to work on something to fill those in, and I got a lot of the black around it better.)

It seems like the screen was upside down and not enough pressure. I've gotten it back to life minus a single line of pixels in the center.

I pushed lightly on the back awhile holding a battery and it worked!

The pixel is probably because the screws are either too tight, or too loose on the board.
You’re going to have a hard time trying to figure out how to fix the pendulum (you said it’s just missing the spring?).
You MIGHT be able to find a small spring, as people have found *basically the same size* replacement screws before, but it’s a long shot.

Good luck.

I got the screen back. It was the screen connector. Has to clean them 4 times and one even fell off. The rubber connectors. When I give it a shake Giru walks though..so is it that important?

Then it *should* be counting - I haven’t used a D-Ark in years, is there a part where it shows counted steps?
If the number goes up, it’s counting.
