New card previews from the Digimon Card Game!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated again with a look at more cards from Booster Set 1 New Evolution. This time it's Cupimon and Caromon.

The scaling issues continue, but we get a pair of Baby 2 Digimon we don't see that much. Cupimon is shown flying above the clouds along with a Puttimon, while Caromon is in a flower field filled with butter-flies alongside a Pafumon.

Between 2 cards we get to see 4 Digimon we don't see all that much of, a nice little touch.

The Digimon Card Game starter decks have been released and Booster Set 1 is scheduled to release on May 15th.

Cupimon looks adorable! I wonder if we'll get Lucemon as an uber strong Rookie with an insanely high cost.

Puttimon has four wings , weird. The only instance I can see of it having four wings is in some Toei art of Puttimon, but in the episode itself it actually only has two wings - so this is technically the first time it has four wings. (or I guess it has four wings, and the second set are retractable?)

I know that the evolution lines are loose in the card game, but a lot of cards have favored certain evolutions based on artwork right? Is the cupimon in Tinkermon’s line?

Cupimon tends to be seen as Lucemon's baby form, so it would be interesting if Lucemon pops up in this set. (the vpet it was in has impmon, salamon, patamon, terriermon, and lucemon - and all the other rookies in that have their own babies already)

Ooh! Intriguing considering Tylinmons already been featured. Who is his child in the card art by the way?

We haven't seen it yet, only that it shares the same artist as SlashAngemon. If we do get the Kudamon line, including Sleipmon, SlashAngemon might end up being something like a general Level 6 that doesn't have something like a "canon" line and just so happens to have been drawn by the same artist. There are a few cards we haven't gotten enough of a good look at to know the artist's name yet, like Angemon and Siesamon.

A line sharing the same artist is just a pattern we've all started to notice and is very far from a rule, so who knows how consistent it is? It's not like Agumon Hakase, Tyranomon, or SkullGreymon share any of the same artists as each other or the rest of the Agumon line in the set. Option cards also don't share the same artist as the main Digimon cards either, so it's never been as cut and dry as "all related cards in a product share the same artist".

it less of a pattern and more like its just how they seem to ask artists to work?
this was also how it worked in the starter decks, one artist would draw the full line of a certain digimon
we dont have a name for angemons artist, but it looks to be in the same style as as'marias seraphimon
some digimon ARE just kinda there tho since the number of digimon on each level on a set is different, so not all of them will have a "full line"
id say its less of "this is how it goes, canonically" and more just a suggestion

It normally does only have one pair of wings. It could just be representing movement; it looks like two pairs, but it's a single pair in two different positions. There is a Xros Wars Toei artwork of Puttimon showcasing that exact same situation. That gives way to another possibility; that artist mistakenly used that same Toei artwork as a reference, believing that single pair of wings was actually two pairs.

That's basically what I said lol. So of course, I agree with you on all that. It gives some cards some nice consistency, but it's not enough to make predictions on is my point.

In regards to Kyaromon I would've redesigned him slightly so that he matches 2006 Kudamon more since he fits the original (since he was designed with the original in mind)

since we already saw chirinmon I guess kudamon is destined to show up. now to wonder which. maybe both on one card?
