Commandramon & Psychmon Previews for Booster Set 3

New card previews from the Digimon Card Game!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with more card previews from Booster Set 3 Union Impact. This time it's Commandramon and Psychemon.

Commandramon is a night scene with some nice lighting that gives off a good artificial overhead light vibe. It shows him drawn in formation, and you can see any number of other Commandramon doing the same, with some nice detail shown. Psychemon is nice to see, but a bit odd to comment on as a recolor. The art looks nice, and the pose almost feels like a different take on a pose Gabumon was in in Booster Set 2, just from a different angle.



Digimon Card Game Booster Set 3 Union Impact is scheduled to release on October 30th.

Well that probably confirms Chaosmon will be in the set then, and probably even UltimateChaosmon (I mean we even already saw Kentaoursmon, which is 1/4 of it, and this basically confirms Darkdramon, another 1/4.)

I guess they want Psychemon/Gururmon to be the "go to" for CeesGarurumon.

Commandramon might just look like a standard vanilla Black LV3 (he's literally just Hagurumon by another name), but now that we know the Level/Attribute/Type bit on the card isn't just flavour text thanks to the recently revealed Legend-Arms cards, thus Commandramon having "D-Brigade" on his card likely means that others in that group will have effects that interact with him - like say Sealsdramon having a "when summoned" search ability whereby you excavate the top five cards in your deck and if there's a LV3 D-Brigade card you can play it for free.

I agree that Psychemon is probably there to be the rookie for CresGarurumon, but it would be nice if they included Astamon in this set as a reference to the Psychemon in Hunters.

I'm so happy they included Commandramon. He's usually absent from the video games and anime so seeing him get love is nice

So the line they used is Psychemon > Gururumon > MetalMamemon > CresGarurumon? Or was that MetalMamemon a different booster.

I don't mind Gururumon's design at all, I just wished they make a WereGururumon or something to complete the line.

MetalMamemon is in Union Impact, yes. However, there's still three unrevealed spaces* between BT3-065 (Gururumon) and BT3-069 (RaijiLudomon). One of those three cards could easily be something like BlackWereGarurumon that makes the Evo Line a little smoother at least.

*Before anyone asks, the card numbers in sets are grouped by colour faction so at the very least those are Black LV 4-5 Monster cards at the very least.

Commandramon actually look very serious in that new card. Very prepared to march into the death huh.

Gimme those new cards of his whole evo!

I’m so hyped for Commandramon, both artworks are great.

Also to answer the above on CresGarurumon: MetalMamemon is the one that original evolved to Cres in the ver. 20th. It’s meant to parallel MetalGreymon (Virus), as you can see in their artworks and effects present on their cards. Psychemon and Gururumon are substitutes for Gabumon and Garurumon, but the rest of the line, MetalMamemon included, is how it’s supposed to go. On the other end is Greymon (Blue) subbing in for regular Greymon, and the likelihood of Agumon (Black) doing the same is high imo.

Honestly if he wasn't in Black I could have seen Commandramon subbing in. Agumon Guns becoming Wargreymon Cannon seems right to me.
