Coatlmon & Sandiramon Previews for Booster Set 10

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 10 Xros Encounter. This time it's Coatlmon & Sandiramon.

Both Coatlmon & Sandiramon feature a painted style, with a decent level of detail, and some nice scenery work.

I've never realized that these two work pretty well being evolutionarily related. Quetzalmon in purple is pretty weird, though

Glad to see they are still using the armor purge mechanic with other armor digimon besides the 02 tamers partner ones. Though i do wish it was a 2 color card like the others from bt8

They both look too similar that I don't like them in the same evolution line. Coatlmon deserve to be a lv5 if not because of the Armor level, especially after Savers.

Yes. And they don't look too similar. Not as too similar as BaoHackmon to SaviorHackmon, or Greymon to MetalGreymon (vaccine). They are pretty good evolution line to be fair.

I think it's cute personally. I'm glad I have a different cheap level 5 to use instead of SkullMeramon, I much prefer Sandiramon's design.

Exactly my point, they're like Angemon to Devimon. While similar in some sort, they don't go in the same line.

I like them as an evolution line, even if I enjoy Coatlmon by itself more than alongside Sandiramon. It's also a good pick for a line for Minervamon/Mervamon, given the white snake theme.

So this is our first Armor digimon which is not 02 adjacent? I was wondering if they would keep the mechanic of the partners being able to evolve into them, but it seems at least for this one that won't be the case. Fair enough, but I would like to see it in the future.

Maybe this is intended to be an Armor that evolved without the digimental, since that's also something digimon can do.

Exactly my point, they're like Angemon to Devimon. While similar in some sort, they don't go in the same line.

In my view, digimon like Minervamon/Cho-Hakkaimon/Lotusmon is something that i can't said it as evil/fallen angel but also not too holy. So, Coatlmon & Sandiramon fit as transition for their pre evolution. I mean Minervamon/Mervamon is goddess type but their look have something that can related with evil. I don't know how to explain it.

I also see Coatlmon fit with Minervamon while Sandiramon fit for Mervamon.

The shell on Sandiramon has me imagine how it would be as a Mario enemy

I wouldn't have expected Coatlmon to be Purple, but I like that it is. As a Lovecraft fan it makes me think of Yig.

OMG that's always been one of my headcanon lines for minervamon I used ignitemon for the rookie so maybe they will too. I also like beastmon and Cho hakkaimon for her. It's funny because I almost posted the line to the evolution thread.

I call this... BLASTEMPHY (Cannot spell that word well...) and Coaltmon is my fav from the card battle PS1 for awesome attack animations!

Jeez I have a feeling about one of the digimon card designers who lacked digimon knowledge...

I was so sure Minervamon is going to have yellow card but I suddenly remembered she is Nightmare Soldier. lol

Digimon sure have tons of "mismatched" things. Ha...

Dual color probably didn't happen just for balancing reasons I'd imagine. But so far as not involving wormmon, I'm actually not surprised. We've seen armor Digimon change from things they originally were associated with before. Like digmon in saviors.
