RIP Etemon, that is going to be very painful.

So which Chikurimon evolves to Champion, or do they all merge together

I too was confused at first seeing it as a Child when it looks like a Baby. I wonder if it was included to be a member of the Mamemon line because of its round-ish body?

Anyways, I consider it to be one of the better "Security" Digimon since aside from having a decent trigger effect, it being a 0 Cost to evolve or 3 Cost Play means that its not the end of the world if you end up drawing it instead of it coming out during a Security Check.

Chikurimon
[Security] At the end of the battle, trigger <De-Digivolve 1> on 1 of your opponent's Digimon

I like its effect but Chikurimon has always been a boring Digimon to me. They just sort of lay there and may or may not explode and die

Chikurimon was originally intended to be the Bagra Army equivalent of a Baby Digimon, being called a “Nanomon” alongside Pickmon, Bombmon, and Monimon. They probably only bumped it up to Child so it could evolve directly to the Adult-level Troopmon (which Jintrix had initially hinted as being Child-equivalent).

He certainly looks more Baby appropriate. But then, if he weren't a Rookie, he couldn't be a Security Mine, so there's that.

Does Etemon deflate if pierced by their tips ?

Speaking of Chikurimon's Evolutions, I wonder why it's here? I assume we aren't getting Troopmon again after already having it in the last Set and as MadLeomon strikes me as more of a Purple Digimon the only candidate left would be...

Chikurimon -> ??? -> Volcamon -> PileVolcamon.

Could work, maybe?

as much as I like Mamemon and don't care for Chikurimon, it could be Chikurimon -> Thunderballmon -> Mamemon -> Bancho Mamemon.
But honestly I think the notion that every Digimon in the tcg is there with an evolutionary family in mind is silly, sometimes we may just have random goofballs floating around and everything can evolve into everything one stage up in its color anyways

I wish there had been an intermediary Child stage between Chikurimon and Troopmon. Ah, well.

Hopefully if we get a Chikurimon Attack Card it shows the aftermath of this.

That may be, but for the last four or five sets that hasn't been the case generally. You usually only get one thing that isn't a part of a line, maybe two, and everything else is fitted together.

Well if you look at this list so far there's not enough space for all four red rookies to get their lines (Shoutmon, hackmon, flamemon, Agumon) so it seems at least two of them (Shoutmon and flamemon?) will be random place fillers.

You're making a lot of assumptions about things you can't see when one of those (Agumon) could very well just be Agumon and Agumon Yuuki no Kizuna, one of them (Shoutmon) has all sorts of oddities in how its evolutions play out (we could easily have Black Ballistamon in this set and then all of the X forms that get in are two colors, at which point they could be either base - see also how the two Imperialdramon cards have been), one of them (Flamon) is inherently going to handle the level system weirdly, and we don't know all of the Secret Rares.

dang, so now you're retorting Muur's assumptions with assumptions in order to fit the assumption that evolutionary lines are implied
