Card Game Booster Set 13 VS Royal Knights English Packaging Preview, plus Bullet Points

From a number of US card shops and distributors, we have pack and box previews of Booster Set 13 VS Royal Knights along with bullet points, which we got the first details of from Japan awhile ago (2).

The packaging has a gold design, featuring new artwork of Omnimon, Gallantmon, and Magnamon that we expect to see on new cards.

The bullet details things we've heard before, but also leaves out a few things (such as the Savers Burst Modes appearing), as the solicitation bullet points looks to mostly focus on the Royal Knights and a few larger card game details:
1- Reiterates that the set focuses on the 13 Royal Knights, which it refers to as some of the most unique and beloved Digimon. Omnimon, Gallantmon, Magnamon, Alphamon, and ULForceVeedramon are all specifically mentioned.
2- The set has 20 parallel (alt art) cards, 13 feature the Royal Knights with special designs that are unlikely standard parallel cards.
3- 4 cards have uniquely low pull rates with special designs. These would appear to be akin to the recent gold/silver cards from BT-12.
4- Box toppers for the set will be alternate design tamer cards. There will be a second box topper that will feature a new mechanic from Starter Deck 15/16.


Some boosters have done different things with parallel cards and box toppers between US & Japan, so some of the details might be slightly different.


With the Japanese release being on February 24th it won't be a super long wait until previews begin. The US release is scheduled for July 21st.

gallant seems the go-to for purple, though thats usually if megidra/chaos is involved

We havent even gotten bt-11 yet and they already released the packaging for this?

Frankly, I wish they delayed Ex-03 for month so that the Bt-10 format would have lasted longer and the ban had gone into effect later.

My guess is another green/blue examon for the green slots (and probably another version of GoldRapidmon as green/yellow, or his x-antibody form, since he's basically a pseudo-royal knight) . Gallantmon is a shoo in for purple/red (or green/red if they want to continue medieval dukemon's evo line). I'm guessing we might also get a purple/yellow lordknightmon.

As for your second point, I'm assuming since we are getting yggdrasil this set, we might seem something similar to 4 great dragons with him where he can turbo out royal knights.

BT-12 is scheduled for April 2022 in English

RB-1 is the set not announced for English that might end up getting skipped...since this is supposed to be after RB-1 yet is announced in English whilst RB-1 isn't.

For purple I can see:
Dynasmon (it's champion is often times considered to be Wizardmon, who is most often a purple card, even if both him and Dynasmon were yellow in the first set featuring Dynasmon. Also I'm a bit influenced by the Vital Bracelet polls here, were a loose (albeit not meaning much) connection between Gumdramon's line and Dynasmon as a mega was made)
Craniamon (it's the kinda "evil" royal knight + I can see him as an evolution of SkullSatamon and Rebellimon - royal knight evolution of Ogremon to parallel Duftmon as Leomon)

For green:
Duftmon - there were Leomon forms which were green so far, it wouldn't surprise me if they made a green/blue Duftmon like Leomon X & Panjyamon X
Examon - was green/blue previously, though if the new Examon is not based on a jogress playstyle it could also be a red card this time around

My guess of color distribution would be:
Red - Gallantmon, Jesmon, Examon (Option A)
Blue - UlforceVeedramon, Sleipmon
Yellow - Magnamon, Crusadermon
Green - Duftmon, Examon (Option B)
Black - Alphamon, Gankoomon
Purple - Craniamon, Dynasmon
White - Imperialdramon, Omegamon

Though if I understand correctly, we are not actually getting all royal knights as new card versions - The royal knights will all be included, but some with just a new artwork? With Burst Modes being part of the package, I feel we might be in for new versions of only for those who played a role in Digimon Savers, while the rest will be alt arts of previously existing cards.

Dunno, with Burst Modes confirmed for the set, I really think the VS Royal Knights is meant to reference the part of Digimon Savers, where they fought the royal knights.

We’re getting all 13 this set alongside Yggdrasil, they’ve announced that much. What they said was that all 13 will get a special type of parallel art.

As for my picks for green, I’m going with Duftmon and Examon. There’s plenty of choices for red and blue as it is, so I think both can represent green the best (although they’re both likely to be half-blue as well).
For purple, I think all the suggestions above can work. Craniamon, Dukemon, Dynasmon, and LordKnightmon all fit, I’m just not sure what we’ll end up with for sure. If we assume each main colour gets two Knights, Craniamon would probably be displaced from being in a black slot with Alphamon and Gankoomon being around, so a purple-black Craniamon works. I imagine red has to be Dukemon and Jesmon, so that leaves Dynasmon and LordKnightmon. One of the two could join Magnamon in yellow, the other will be purple.

Hoping we will see BanchoLeomon, Agumon and Sleipmon Burst modes here + Gizmon line. Otherwise it will be a very uninteresting set (unless they plan to introduce new digimon to serve as previous lines for some of the Royal Knights ones without ones).

So that is the cover? Looks pretty... Average. But I wonder if this will include their X forms or not?

Knowing this is for Savers, I cannot imagine how their effects will reference or improved effects compared to their last cards or give combo with Antibody X cards...

I bet this booster set probably will not include "bad" ones or only include wild digimons whose appeared in Savers? I find it pretty hard to imagine.
