Budmon, Missimon, & Xiaomon Previews for Booster Set 4

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set 4 Great Legend. This time it's another trio of cute Baby 2 cards!

First up is Budmon. Appears to be sleeping with Yuramon after a long day of work at the meat farm. And there is a not so hidden cameo from another well known Digimon.
Then we have Missimon, who is speeding off to do... something. Looks like his rushing past has surprised a few Bommon.
Last we have a Xiaomon with a Paomon hanging around a network interface.


Digimon Card Game Booster Set 4 Great Legend is scheduled to release on December 18th.

We've also started to get previews from Booster Set 4 Great Legend. It's scheduled for release on December 18th.

I was expecting Botamon for Budmon as well since the vpet it debuted in had Botamon able to become Koromon, Wanyamon, and Budmon but Yuramon works a lot better so I like this choice. Now for Arcadiamon, Chichiimon, and KoDokugumon as theyre also In-Training Digimon without a Fresh form.

And omg the doggos are so cute

More babies, not quite as precious but still cute.

I love that they're continuing the continuity by showing the meat farm again. Missimon's effect being exclusive to the D-Brigade definitely limits his use in decks but I'm fine with that. Xiaomon being in thr Network is a cool callback to his origins and I'm glad this means we'll see Labramon in Purple where he belongs.

Retaliation is the official English term for what was commonly known as "Companion" or "Vengeance" in fan translations.

But yeah, interesting to see that this is our Digitama lineup for BT-4. Honestly wasn't expecting them to devote the Black Digitama slot to the D-Brigade as well, but it's nice to see they're going all-in on them. Budmon alongside Yoshino is pushing DigiBurst in Green, makes quite a bit of sense for them to focus on that considering Green has naturally faster Digivolution then anyone else to fuel DigiBurst costs. Xiaomon is interesting since it isn't a simple power boost, and giving Retaliation to anything is nice. Yeah, Purple has a ton of ways to use Retaliation already, but Xiaomon allows you to access that from the Breeding Area in the event you don't have space for those cards for one reason or another. It's also adorable, so it gets points for that.

It's not a new effect, it's the Official English Localisation of the Keyword 道連れ ("Travelling Companion").

Dear Jessmon I love them Puppies! I'm upset it's your turn only on the retaliation, but it's such a key skill for purple its still great to have another inheritable way of using it.

Yeah back in the Data Squad/DS game era they used one combined Baby level - so Moonmon and Sunmon only have one Baby form as theyre from that era, same for these guys. I don't mind some of them sharing baby forms, Tanemon and Yuramon sharing is fine, and I like Koromon and Wanyamon basically being brothers by sharing Botamon. I guess Sunmon would have Mokumon and Moonmon YukimiBotamon. Chichimon sould have Puwamon maybe (surely there's something better)

Which is irrelevant - if they got in this card game it's not even guaranteed they'd be shown with a Baby 1, and if they did, it would likely just be one that was already extant.

Baby 1's purpose in 95% of the franchise is to show the period in which a Digimon cannot fight in, which is why it's pretty much pointless to bring into a card game which is all about fighting (especially when in said card game even Baby II isn't allowed to fight, a role that it only sometimes fulfills). This is not the product to flesh out lines that far down.

I was agreeing with you by noting that it’s become standard to not have a baby 1 for every new baby 2.

Well it's really weird Wanyamon having Botamon instead of "Beast Baby I" like Punimon for example. It does makes sense for any canine digimon.

I could see Arkadimon Baby getting Kuramon in future card....

Counting these cards, Wanyamon has actually had Botamon as it's first stage baby 8 times out of 11 appearances so theyve been really consistent with it

I mean, the whole line is called Arcadiamon, how can another Digimon being his first form ?
