A couple Digimon Card Game updates!


We got our first details for Digimon Card Game Booster Set 4 Great Legend recently, and if you want to order it HLJ has put up pre-orders: (the link helps the site)
Booster Pack 4 Great Legend Pre-orders at HLJ

Pre-orders are for a retail box containing 24 packs for $36.92.


The set is scheduled for December 18th, and the card distribution is as follows:
44 Common
30 Uncommons
26 Rare
12 Super Rare
3 Secret Rares


It appears this will be a Greymon heavy set, with VictoryGreymon, ShineGreymon, and WarGreymon cards already announced.



We'll have more to say about Booster Set 4 in the future, but for now, time for Booster Set 3 cards!

New card previews from the Digimon Card Game!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with more card previews from Booster Set 3 Union Impact. This time it's option card Necrophobia and Lilithmon.

Necrophobia features Mummymon in the midst of miasma style energy. It's a menacing looking card with some really nice looking art.

Lilithmon we actually got a good look at last week when Digimon Card Battle returned.




Digimon Card Game Booster Set 3 Union Impact is scheduled to release on October 30th.

I was noticed Mummymon in this card and previous one is holding the machine gun upside down, does he usually do that in anime?

As much as I like VictoryGreymon, I'm not super hyped for a Set based around the Greymon species.

Hopefully there'll be some interesting non-Greymon 'mons included, like say more Royal Knights or the 7 Demon Lords.

Royal knights and demon lords being more interesting than Digimons like Victorygrey, Emperorgrey, Ancientgrey and Zeekgrey??? In what world do you live my friend? Cause in mine Royal knights and Demon lords are the most overused Digimons in the feanchise after some protagonist partners.
I mean even dokunemon is more interesting than Alphamon and his friends...

Hell, this board seemed more hyped for Gururumon just recently. Granted, the Greymon species may seem just as if not more overused than Royal Knights if you look solely at Taichi's Digimon, and MAYBE Masaru's (though shout-out to ShineGreymon Ruin Mode). But the other Greymon species? Not so much.

A booster for Greymon family, so it's true. I don't think we have that many Greymon, I guess all Omegamon variations will also be in BT4.

Hopefully we get Gaioumon and the Xros Wars Greymon and evos here. Wondering how they'll fill the rest of the roster (because obviously there's not enough Greymon for that, even considering X-forms). Maybe the Garurumon/Gaomon equivalents for each? Shoutmon for Xros Wars and the Omegamon link?

Rather than an anime thing, it's always been like that. It's held like that in Mummymon's official artwork.

I think they will include all the Agumon variations as well, there's a lot of em.
Very unlikely but I'd love it if they include the obscure Greymons like Greymon O, Greymon Ash and RampageGreymon.

I dont like Victorygreymon, but its more interesting than any Royal Knight and Demon lord for sure. At least to see a new card of him.

It lets people pretend they aren't rooting for WarGreymon, one of the most well known and well liked Digimon.

Including DoruGreymon, DexDoruGreymon, and BurningGreymon there are 38 Greymon-species Digimon. 35 without them.

If they include Gaiomon, who's profile says it's part of the Greymon-species, they're gonna need a species clause to detonate this (and maybe they'll give it to the Doru as well, finally showing it's a Greymon not just in the dub)

Including all of them+any related Digimon like Agumon and every Omnimon they prob can get to 100+ cards easily enough.

I also really hope we don't get color shafter and that the color distribution is fair or if we do that the next boosted focuses on the shafted colors

Being less used makes him more interesting, whats interesting about a group that appeared in almost everything since they were created? you want to see them go to twitter, you have more than 1 thousand fanarts about them, i want to see interesting guys in these cards, and yes Victorygrey is not my fav, he is not in my top100, but he is by far more interesting than those 2 mainstream groups.

Okay so obviously everyone here seems annoyed at this announcement for BT4, but it could honestly be worse IMO.

As long as their effects are different from previous Greymons (and also include cards for all the 6 main colors), there's not really much else to ask for.

As with any other card games, the best cards are chosen for their effects and roles, not by whether the artwork depicts your favorite character. A card with a new unique effect is still the same regardless of whether it's a Greymon or not (of course, aside from the "Greymon" name synergy).
