Booster Set 4 Great Legend Update- Card Rarity Distribution & 3 Digimon in the Set

A few updates for Booster Set 4 Great Legend, which we just found out about.

Digimon TCG Blog is reporting the card distribution for the set, along with a few other details. At the moment it isn't clear where the info is from, although a sales sheet seems likely (they've reported accurate information in the past, but hopefully we get to see the sales sheet if that is where it is from.)

The information on card distribution for Booster Set 4 is a bit different than 2 and 3 with 115 cards & the card distribution is:
44 Common
30 Uncommons
26 Rare
12 Super Rare
3 Secret Rares

It's also listed that boxes will include 1 Tamer card, so the parallel card box bonus will be continuing.


They also give the names of 3 Digimon who will appear in the set:
VictoryGreymon
WarGreymon
ShineGreymon



They also muse a bit on the title and how it brings to mind Digimon Frontier for them (a number of people have wondered on the booster set name, with Frontier being a common guess.) This 'does' appear to be musing on it based on the name, rather than them knowing.


Update- Can't make out much of the text with tools due to the size and the watermark, it does mention adding Greymon content, and I think I see a mention of many more Security related cards. Hopefully a translation shortly.




Digimon Card Game Booster Set 4 Great Legend is scheduled for release on December 18th.



Booster Set 3 Union Impact comes out in October. We got our first extended look at it in a recent issue of V-Jump, plus recently got a clean look at the booster pack packaging.

Pre-orders for the Green, Purple, and Black starter decks have opened. They are out in November.

Or, Yagami Taichi (1999).

If the "Great" in "Great Legend" refers to "Greymon", I could see this Booster being focused only on Greymon-species cards.

It doesn't seem likely to me that they'll put out Frontier content already, since we're just beginning to receive Tamers-related cards, but who knows.

To be fair, there aren't so many Greymons that they could fill the set, and AncientGreymon and KaiserGreymon are both Fontier mons.

that would literally be worst case scenario in the 4th booster for a card game not even a year old and with the only ShineGreymon to reprint being from the last booster

And the following Boosters after BS4 are AncientGarurumon and Garurumon species, AncientBeatmon and Insectoid digimon, and so on?

It's kinda redundant, not that I'm complaining tho. I mean if it is, we'll get many digimon in the new TCG and I'll be fine with it. But I don't think it will be only Greymons, at least for now. Maybe a booster that full of the main protagonists of many series, including manga? The Great Legendary Heroes? I'm not sure either. Haha.

As for reprints, I hope they are not.

This set is coming out right before Christmas, so using one of the most popular Digimon species as a theme isn’t all that crazy, if anything it’s a smart decision to increase sales. Not only do you have WarGreymon, you have a rep for almost every single era of the franchise with Adventure, maybe Frontier, Next, Savers, and even Xros Wars is possible. There’s also Gaioumon that’s been used in a number of video games. Plus, just based on timing it’s possible this set will tie-in with certain developments in Adventure: and include some material from Kizuna (for those in the know, well you know lol).

Reprints really wouldn’t make sense this soon, but based on the art used in the sales sheet it’s possible.

I'm excited by the potential of several interesting Tamer cards if nothing else. Masaru and Tsurugi seem likely, or any of the excess of Gaioumon-partnered people from recent games. I might roll my eyes a bit if they print yet another Colon Taichi Tamer though.

Lmao I'm glad someone noticed how over used Gaiomon is as a partner Digimon.

Maybe this is about the Warrior Ten and that each of them will have three random arrays of theme-related Digimon, perhaps even double their effects when Evolved/Digivolved from them.
