Booster Set 10 Magazine Previews- Sparrowmon, Shoutmon x5, Shoutmon x5B, Kiriha, Greymon, & MetalGreymon

We have a few Digimon Card Game Booster Set 10 magazine previews from the upcoming issue of V-Jump!

We start off with Sparrowmon, then we see her added to the group for Shoutmon x5, then Shoutmon X5B (adding Beelzebumon to the mix.)

Then we get a Blue Flare trio with Kiriha, in the style of the anime, Greymon in his 2010 anime appearance (with MailBirdramon in the background), finishing off with their Xros of MetalGreymon in his 2010 anime version, doing his version of Giga Destroyer.


Really great appearances from well known Xros Wars characters, exactly what you want to see for a set with a focus on that era of the franchise.

Sparrowmon gets three traits??

Really, it's interesting they made Twilight a trait, wouldn't the only things in it be Monitamon, Monimon, HD Monitamon, and Sparrowmon? By the time Mervamon/Jetmervamon joined Twilight was defunct as an organization because Yuu took it over, and they're clearly not counting that here because Damemon wasn't in it.

SoTtwilight is in the card game after all, they weren't really around in the anime that long. Interesting that Sparrowmon can also evolve from Fusion Fighters though, I guess she counts as both at once. there weren't many members though, Sparrowmon, Monimon/Monitamon, Mervamon, and AxeKnightmon though the latter was just pretending to be on Nene's side.

Shoutmon X5B can evolve from regular Beelzemon too, and unless they decide to give us proper art of X6 5B basically counts as X6. Evolving backwards to X4B would be amusing if that gets in.

I'm not very fond of Sparrowmon's design, but I think the card managed to display it in a pleasant way, is a good pose for it to see it moving with such immediacy.

Props to the artists drawing the Shoutmon X line, since the excess of detail can make it quite difficult to read, and I am finding them quite easy on the eyes, as well. You can even feel the movement, which is not always easy with blocky and angular designs.

Hoping we get to see the proper art in high quality soon.

If they're dividing the Armies based on their respective General (Nene for Twilight and Yuu for Bagra's Army), Mervamon could still be classified as Twilight, especially if she's a Black card like Monitamon and Sparrowmon.

Not sure about DarkKnightmon, but I think the likely choice is that he'll be in both Twilight and Bagra's Army (he's the literal logo for Twilight, after all; and he also has a Xros with Tuwarmon).

General question about the card game: are there any cards that target or specify digimon based on their Attribute listed? I don't recall them being of much significance so far, even in cards you would expect to show up for flavor reasons (ex: Manticoremon having some effect that is effective against Virus digimon)

The card game doesn't use a rock-paper-scissor system for the digimon (probably a good idea given this would add another variable to keep cards balanced from the get to go) but I do miss some relevancy on that.

Anyway, Maildramon may be a reference to Xros Wars manga.

It's likely just navy blue. The quality of the photo just makes it look darker or unsaturated.

while not new, it is kinda funny that a pre evolution is a higher rarity than its evolution. even more it the case of X5B who is a rare when it's components aren't (it doesn't specifiy Xros Beelzemon so im assuming you could throw BT2/EX2 in if you wanted to)

Side note: Given that Nene is now all but confirmed Black, my final guess at the remaining Tamers would be Akari (Yellow because Dorulumon), Zenjirou (Green because Ballistamon) and Yuu (Purple).

Shoutmon X5B: Interesting, I didn't expect to see Armour Purge on a non-Armour Digimon. I would be bemused to see the DigiXros done with the original Beelzemon instead of the XW one.

Kiriha: I didn't notice before but the XW Tamers actually have Traits - "General" and "Blue Flare" in this case. Makes me wonder if we'll have something that can search out non-specific XW Tamers based on that.

The original Beelzemon already fused into x5B during all star rumble so that's nothing new.
