With about a month go to, we have our first look at cards from Digimon Card Game Booster Set EX-02 Digital Hazard.

This theme booster is based around Digimon Tamers. We don't know the exact magazine these previews are from, due to the timing and general look V-Jump is the most likely.

For our first batch of card previews we have:
Guilmon
A Guilmon parallel card featuring him, Takato, and him having wings from a card slash.
Renamon, drawn by longtime Digimon designer and artist As'Maria
Terriermon
Dukemon (using the art we've seen a couple times in the last day)
Reaper, which is the first Digimon card that doesn't have a level (and also isn't a Digimon.) This one appears to be a snapshot from teh show, but the photo quality makes it a bit hard to tell for sure at the moment.
Attack Plug-in A, an option card themed a card that appeared in Hyper Coliseum a number of times, which appeared in the show.

Not bad for a first preview. Some nice looking cards.

I'm happy EX-02 doesn't use Reference Book artworks.

Good lord, I can’t make out the small text on my phone but I see the D-Reaper with a Play Cost of 20 and my brain just broke. That’s not even playable unless some shenanigans are going on.

The other cards look cool, especially loving that parallel with Takato as well as that Option card full of nostalgia.

Absolutely fantastic. I've been waiting for a Tonamikanji Guilmon line since they did Terriermon in BT-03 and Renamon in BT-05. I've fallen out of collecting the cards for the past couple boosters just cause my attention's been on other stuff, but I'll have to make sure to pick up a box of this for that alone.

I just wonder if this set has proper art instead of DRB art was always a thing, or if they switched gears and did it this way after seeing people complain about the DRB set

The Kunemon in the Background of the Guilmon card is SO cute. Someone drawing these cards just loves Kunemon and I am HERE for it.

Did Guilmon somehow end up in the original PlayStation Digimon World's Digital World and beat up the Kunemon you recruit so he could get a blue apple? For reference:

Okay, now that I'm at my computer I can have a proper butcher's hook at these cards. Kinda weird that Terriermon doesn't have the same searching effect as his fellow Rookies but whatever. The D-reaper referencing a bunch of other cards means we'll have to see those cards to fully judge his effectiveness. That Plug-In card just straight giving SA+1 reminds me a lot of just doing a "Card Slash!"

Anyone who thought they were all going to be DRB art clearly wasn't paying attention. They're literally called "Themed Boosters" in their names with each Set having a subtitle that describes their contents and specific theme. Set 1 was the "Classic Collection" which naturally references their classic style whereas this Set is a Tamers themed one, including aberrations such as the D-Reaper.

So EX-Booster series is random fun hobby? I see... Shame I will end up being struck with lousy 3D cards I collected. Sigh here goes my dream.

I don't like anime screen shots on trading cards, it is a very lazy metod to produce cards.

Putting arts from DRB is lazy too, but DRB arts are nice and have own, unique style.

if we get the blue card or red card, it'd be cool if they have alternate arts that have no text so that they feel like the real cards from Tamer

Thank god.

Given that the card is essentially literally impossible to play unless applying its effect, they're gonna have to print a lot of cards to support it. ADR is going to be one of the big themes of this set, it seems.
