Blucomon Preview for Booster Set 5 & Fun Digica 68- Viewer Suggestion Battle

A few card updates!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega. This time we get Blucomon.

Bluecomon gets a card with him standing on a snowy/icy cliff, looking like he's ready to go into action. Behind him is Penmon, staring. (The coloring looks a bit like Muchomon, but with the eye and beak it appears it's just shading on Penmon.)




Digimon Card Game Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega is scheduled to release on February 26th.

I don't think they did my boy blucomon justice with that artwork. He deserves something more epic.

I actually quite like the look on this one when it comes to artwork personally. A bit unfortunate that it's effect is just Promo Gomamon's but Blucomon is a 4 Cost, gonna make it hard to justify running it outside of simply wanting to have more copies of that effect.

I love this Blucomon card. It's so expressive, and is a great reference.

I like how Blucomon just stands on top of that iceberg as if his evil plans just got thwarted by a bunch of kids and he's swearing revenge while Penmon is just standing there like "Boss, you alright?"

Blucomon looks heroic in that stance or being victorious, and Penmon is supposed to be one of Blucomon's friends.

 

[Taso]

Most Bluccomon art makes him look too much like a Champion to me and that always bothered me. Here, though, he looks like a rookie. I'm not sure what exactly changed. Maybe the camera angle makes him look shorter. I'm a fan of the art.

Maybe that's because it's just you. But I can guess Blucomon may be Adult to you because of... Hulkmon with that Nakano's artstyle?

Nothing earth shattering, but as to be expected Blucomon's Inherited Effect does naturally combo perfectly with Hexeblaumon's "When Attacking Discard up to two Evolution Sources from an Opponent's Digimon" so now you can gain a Memory alongside that.

I don't see any of Muchomon in there tbh, all I can see if Penguinmon.

anyway hopefully the English version of the card uses "Blucomon" and ignores the DRB's spelling of "Bulucomon", but they didn't ignore the DRB spelling of "RangaLoardmon", so I guess I wont hold out hope for that and will expect it to say "Bulucomon". now to wonder if I would prefer "Bulucomon" or "Bulcomon"? this lad has so many official spellings, lmao.

anyway they seem to have gone for a more "badass" art style for this one, and it does make him look more akin to those like Shoutmon and Agumon as a protagonist Digimon compared to previous arts, so I in regards to making him look super protag like I think they did a good job. Shame he never got his own personal baby form.
