A new Figure-Rise Standard Amplified model kit has been announced!

This time it's BlackWarGreymon from Digimon Adventure 02.

The model kit is a remold of WarGreymon, who was the first entirely new mold for the series, and was one of the first two kids released (along with Omegamon), but there are a few alterations to the kit this time.

The Ultimate Dark Tower Digimon is reproduced in various molded colors including black, silver, and gold.

The wing parts can be attached to the back and used as an action feature. When equipped on the back, they can deploy in a winglike structure.

It's also possible to remove the wing parts and attach them to the arms.

Of note is that they tweaked the mold of the shield design to not have the crest of courage on it, not always a guarantee when WarGreymon is remolded to BlackWarGreymon.

New effects parts are included to add a slashing visual to the Dramon Killers.

The full accessory list for BlackWarGreymon is:
Dramon Killer x2
Wing Parts, 1 set
Effects Parts x2
Foil stickers

The kit will be out September 2020 for 4,730 yen.

The remold and effects parts look nice, and add a bit of uniqueness to this even though it's a remold.

Update- Pre-orders have opened. A number of places already say sold out though, whether they sold out quickly or just haven't properly listed stock yet isn't clear. Listing them in case stock reappears:
CDJapan (affiliate link, shows as sold out)
Amiami (shows as sold out)

The third Figure-rise Standard Amplified Digimon model kit, MetalGarurumon, was delayed awhile back to July. It is still scheduled for them.

4,730 is $44 in USD? I always thought these figures were a lot more expensive

Good thing this isn't a P-Bandai exclusive.

Model kits tend to be a lot cheaper than most collectible figures. They come in mass-producible runners where you have to cut out each part and piece the model together yourself.

As a rule rule, model making is expensive not necessarily because of the model kit itself but rather from how much customization you intend to give the figure do to the cost of customization supplies.

The time sink is also a big factor.
I build gunpla and I was thinking of building Wargraymon but the amount of painting required for it to meet my standards seems like a lot:(

Edit: BlackWargraymon seems to look a lot better without paint but I like the original more : (

On the one hand it feels like it's kind of stalling (Digivolving Spirits did the same thing...) but it's still pretty cool. Kinda hoping this means we get an Omnimon Zwart too!

Originally, I was going to get this from amiami, but pre-orders were closed so I had to get it from HLJ (Hobby Link Japan). I hope we get more in the future. I would not mind to see Arukenimon and Mummymon in the line.

I have so many other model kits I have to build, but I can't let this one pass me by. I've actually got two Reboot Omegamon just sitting in their boxes still (I forgot I ordered the first one...)
