BlackMegaloGrowmon Preview for Booster Set 5

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega. This time we get BlackMegaloGrowmon.

BlackMegaloGrowmon gets a card that's framed to appear as a sequel to the BlackGrowmon card, with the same night time cityscape and red moon. Having evolved, he looks to have beaten a MetalGreymon.



Digimon Card Game Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega is scheduled to release on February 26th.

So after Omegamon being captured by Megidramon, we have MetalGreymon being demolished by BlackMegaloGrowmon.

I think I see a recurring idea.
Soon Wargreymon on the ground against Dukemon ?

Damn, Guilmon is taking no prisoners, first slapping around MetalGreymon then later owning Omegamon.

Oof, DigiBurst 3 on a LV5 and it's not even that busted of an effect either. That Inheritable Effect is a lot better though even if it's nerfed to only once per turn.

This is somewhat oddly satisfying. Even coming from me being Agumon to Omegamon fan. lol

Yeah Guilmon seemed to have some kind of revenge against Agumon maybe because he is "better" version of Agumon as Tamers season said so?

BlackMegalogrowmon defeated MetalGreymon and left him in such sad state. Megidramon totally made Omegamon a lady in the distress forcing Dukemon to save that princess.

So the next new Growmon and Dukemon cards yet to reveal up... Can't wait.

Oof, DigiBurst 3 on a LV5 and it's not even that busted of an effect either. That Inheritable Effect is a lot better though even if it's nerfed to only once per turn.

It's an emergency button to grab yourself a Guilmon that becomes a perfect target for ChaosGallantmon's "When Digivolving" effect. ChaosGallantmon almost does too much as it is, so BlackGrowlmon and BlackWarGrowlmon just makes it supremely strong. BlackWarGrowlmon is almost a strictly better WereGarurumon from BT2, but doesn't come with the Garurumon name which has seen more support and is more efficient with Nokia existing.

It always bothers me a little bit that Megidramon is able to dominate Omegamon in this way.
I would have digested it more easily if it had been Wargreymon.

Bandai still has a schizophrenic communication with Omegamon, they make him appear all the time in many different forms, but on the side they humiliate him regularly.

This has repercussions on Wargreymon (and MetalGarurumon) by the way.
In Adventure 2020, Wargreymon is portrayed as a super-badass, being able to one-shot Mega levels without difficulty, except that it contradicts the way Omegamon is constantly being abused, even though it’s his evolution.

The cityscape background and MetalGreymon being knocked out with it's eyes like that immediately gave me flashbacks to the first movie with Parrotmon.

Anyways, it's a okay card. Basically just BT-2 WereGarurumon 2.0 the majority of the time since DigiBurst 3 on a Lv5 is very steep, so I'm viewing the main skill as the type of thing you might get to use every once in a while.

Yeah I already seen BlackGrowmon and ChaosDukemon cards but I just want normal ones to have more new cards lol with that feral eyes Guilmon in new card.

Come to think of it, Omegamon did got "humiliated" few times. KO'ed. Broken Grey Sword. Sliced. Lady in Distress. And made a clone himself and earned "D".
Hmm what did WarGreymon suffer in humiliation? KO'ed. Betrayed. Then defending to death before restored with FRIENDSHIP. Dead.

Hm seems Wargreymon suffer less than Omegamon.

Really have my fingers crossed for a Gallantmon (Chaos Mode) but not holding my breath... Would be awesome to finally have it appear somewhere other than the toys.

Staring at BlackWarGrowlmon too hard suddenly made me think - we've got regular Guilmon in this Evo-line, we've got Terriermon Assistant and having Sakuyamon all but guarantees Renamon will appear as well...

I made a joke about the Tamers kids appearing as Tamer cards in this Set instead of the XW kids a few days ago, but now I'm really starting to wonder if the stars have aligned. It would mean that Dukemon having his own Starter Deck wouldn't need to create a brand new Takato Tamer card.
