Oh good, KingChessmon. Looking forward to Queen. They seem like an interesting archetype and with how many there are you can have a pretty good amount of them in a deck. Even more if they create the missing ones, I.e whiterookchessmon, whitekingchessmon etc

Wait, so they dont give pawn and knightchessmon their colors in their name, but they give it to bishop who was whitechessmon exclusive until xros wars?

The card doesn't say white. Marc was differentiating cuz the black one exists.

Also black bishopchessmon and white rookchessmon are actually listed as pre evos for kingchessmon and queenchessmon on cards years before XW. They ended up never releasing them as cards so ended up "unreleased Digimon" I guess. The anime used one, now to wait for white rookchessmon to appear outside an unused evolution requirement. This would be a good time

it always feels weird writing "[Digivolve: X from Lv.Y w/ [Z] in name]" because the "w/" shorthand and "in name" rather than "in its name" feels improper. I always reference cards like the English Canoweismon to double check that it is how those effects are worded in English

Kingchessmon being able to turn PawnChessmon's into QueenChessmons for a 4 cost is pretty broken.

even better is getting that reduced play cost effect and playing both KingChessmon and QueenChessmon from your hand for only 5 memory + a sacrifice.

This card reminds me how much I love KingChessmon's design and lore. He's a genuinely weak mega and looks goofy as he's just a flashy PawnChessmon in design but his mega level is justified as he's a supercomputer level strategist, he just needs his firepower to come from others. I think it's neat

I mean, weak Ultimate is still strong by other level standards (compare to Parasimon), but the King chess piece needing to sort its other pieces to be maximally effective is definitely a nice bit of design work, especially since Rook and Bishop, as shown in Savers, are really powerful by Perfect standards, able to be relevant defensive and offensive threats in a fight against a Demon Lord of all things.

Mm look like QueenChessmon card might have to affect all Chessmon cards to power up so hard or not. Or capable to roflstomp everywhere as she evolved like the Queen chess piece do.

I'm assuming she will have some effect to sacrifice them to protect kingchessmon or trash security.

The Chessmon have always been some of my favorite Digimon. I'm liking how the effects really give off that 'Chessmon Empire' vibe.

Looking forward to the Black line. I'm guessing it'll be Purple/Black, although I can also see them just swapping the order of the colors and doing Black/Yellow ('inverted' but not really).
