The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Starter Decks 9 and 10. This time it's V-mon and Plotmon.

We previously saw previews of Betamon and Lopmon awhile back, but these are larger. Both cards are amusing and have good art (that Betamon in the back floating their looking a bit goofy is particularly amusing.)

Card previews for Starter Decks 9 & 10:

Starter Decks 9 & 10 will be out October 29th in Japan.

We have clean card images from Booster Set 7 Next Adventure, Campaign Cards, & Tamers 20th Promo Cards.

We have the first info for Booster Set 8 New Hero & the Special Entry Set.

We also have our first details for Starter Decks 9 and 10 Ultimate Ancient Dragon & Tactician from Another World. Plus the 2nd Theme Booster, Digimon Tamers.

I like how they grabbed the opportunity to make a blue Betamon which can evolve from either a blue or green In-Training.

This basically makes it's canonic evolution line possible as a whole: Koromon (Green) -> Betamon (Blue 2) -> Seadramon -> MegaSeadramon -> MetalSeadramon

The new Betamon only having 4.000DP also makes the evolution (slightly) more acceptable, cause now Seadramon is no longer weaker than it's rookie.

I'm always slightly annoyed whenever they release Digimon in a set together, that are clearly meant to reference the evolution from one to another, but the evolution isn't justifiable within the card game. I can think of atleast several examples where they "goofed" like that:

-BT-01 Groundramon was clearly added to serve as the canonic evolution to red starter deck's Coredramon, but they're identical in terms of cost and power, only differences are their levels and the fact, that Coredramon is a blocker with both it's advantages and drawbacks and Groundramon is a vanilla.
-BT-02 Betamon is an expensive but powerful rookie, when Seadramon from that same set is a super cheap, but not that powerful Champion.
-BT-03 JewelBeemon is a 10.000DP green beatstick, but BanchoStingmon only has 9.000DP. BanchoStingmon still has an ability that can push it to 16.000DP under circumstances, but it's still odd he's weaker than his Ultimate at base power.

Oh? So jogress digimon cards are no longer unique just because everybody can evolve to any in dual colors? It's kinda... Bad.

Yeah I'm annoyed at how they had few Child cards with higher DP powers same things for Adults and Perfects. Hell, even annoyed at how few Ultimate cards got average DP power levels...

But I do notice recolors and anime partners are highly favored for having higher DP powers which is good thing I guess... But still.

Dual evolution conditions haven't been exclusively referencing jogress for a while now. BlitzGreymon & CresGarurumon had them so you could make a red and black mash up deck for Omegamon Alter-S in a similar fashion to how ST-09 & ST-10 will be structured, BT-04 introduced slide evolutions, BT-06 had a purple or black Rebellimon and EX-01 had a green or red Tyrannomon & a black or red Megadramon.

Personally I can't complain, because all the dual conditions still make sense considering the Digimon's canonic evolutionary paths:

a) Betamon digivolves from Koromon, which probably won't be made as a blue card, but we have it in green.
b) Lopmon's path is Virtue or Vice, so yellow or purple

We also don't know whether all cards in the deck will in fact have dual evolution requirements, but it has been long revealed that there will be only 3 actual dual-color cards per deck & that the decks will still favor green & purple over blue & yellow.

That Lopmon & Terriermon art warms my heart. Betamon looks really cool and adorable! Takase always delivers.

Well I wish odd cards gonna have to stop because there is LoaderLiomon card that is blue (I know Leomon gets blue card but...) while Liomon's evo line gets all yellow cards which is why I tend to get annoyed at how they made certain cards to get strayed off of their evo lines or gets opposite color like Tsukaimon with yellow. If they keep up continuing like this, I'm fine with "odd cards" but c'mon give some right treatments to those. You know, the new cards like XVmon and Tailmon? Wormmon cards or other green Childs goes XVmon for Imperialdramon decks? And Tailmon with two yellow/purple... It's really weird to see her with that colors like that because I wondered what will they give to BlackTailmon? Surely it will make it easy for Mastemon cards or other combos. I'm fine with fun card combo ideas they designed for yet I'm bothered just like that. Yeah it's sorta like I'm so overprotective with... Pure ideas as they were meant to as they are supposed to be like that. Something like that.

I find it weird. Why XVmon card isn't like that Tailmon with dual colors even if they have dual color evo requirements but one of them lacked Half color beyond the main effects in background gives me this is so wrong vibes.

Bearmon and Grizzlymon are in the same set and are blue. LoaderLiomon was in for those two, as a Tri/ReArise thing
