Bandai Says Digimon Survive is Coming Out in 2022

With the year nearly over, Bandai has remembered they technically haven't said anything all year, despite us getting bits of news from elsewhere. The various Digimon game Twitter accounts have posted a message from Producer Habu. (Eng) (Jpn)


The primary point of the message is to tell us something we 100% couldn't have known as we are about to enter the end of the year. The game is delayed until 2022.


Not much else to say since not much is actually said here.


The Japanese version of the text appears to pay some minimal lip service to the idea that they had promised information in the past, but doesn't really go past going "Yeah, doing that was delayed."

Ok, I'll take it. With all the age ratings coming out, I can say I'm cautiously optimistic that this time they're for real. And 2022 gives them a large margin.

I suppose even if we the dedicated fanbase knew about this from the fiscal report thingy, they still had to release a public statement for the more casual players.

That said I have hope that given all the ratings stuff going on around the world, it won't be super long into 2022.

Really the annoucement of it being delayed to 2022 is just a formality since we all just kinda assumed it was gonna happen anyway. I would love to see a devlog just to see what "quality enhancement" is being done and other things. Personally, the lack of information is the most frustrating part.

Please be worth the wait (would have to be an 11/10 to do so tbh I'm beyond caring these days a dub announcement is the only thing that'd pull me back in 100% hyped when the time finally comes for a real release date...)

I think so too. I personally feel the reason Habu is speaking right now in particular is because they just secured the Korean age rating making it so they got the ratings the wanted in quite a few countries. Now the dev team probably has a ton more data on how far along they are with final edits.
Some people would call me dumb for trusting the statement years again but I really think this is the last stretch

Actually, I'd prefer they don't announce anything again. I mean, they're doing what best for the game. Take as much time they can as the delayed games are better than the rushed ones. And then when the time comes, release the trailer and pre order announcement. We'd all be happy.

It's hard to hold the hype for something that is contantly being put off and become an online meme, but I'd lie if I said I'd not support any project in which Habu is involved

It's nice to see that they're still acknowledging Survive which at least means they're hopefully still working on the game. But I'll believe it's out in 2022 when I see it's out.

The way I see it, we don't really have anything to lose at this point. If it gets delayed again, they simply killed their momentum completely and we simply don't buy it. If they cancel it, we can move on to the next Digimon game. If they actually release it in 2022 then good! We can finally play it and watch Ghost Game at the same time!

You have a point. I'm still working on those two that came out last time. I stopped because I had a different game come out. But maybe I'll have those two done by the time this comes out.
