BanchoLeomon & Flash Bancho Punch Previews for Booster Set EX-05

The Digimon Card Game Twitter (2) has updated with card previews from Booster Set EX-05 Animal Colosseum. This time it's BanchoLeomon & Flash Bancho Punch.

BanchoLeomon gets some nicely detailed art, showing him side by side with a number of other well known high level Digimon. Flash Bancho Punch features some fun cartoony art of him using his mighty punch filled with fighting spirit.

many people might be shocked to discover that I actually have a huge love for Bancho digimon. I'm hoping we can make a whole Bancho deck where I can use Flashy Bancho Punch! Oh, actually, I can still use it in my Bancho Mamemon deck since it bypasses color requirements! Yay!

[Main] Suspend 1 of of your opponent's Digimon. 1 of your opponent's Digimon gets -12000 DP for the turn, then 1 of your Digimon with [Leomon] or [Bancho] in its name may attack.

That's one heck of a buff for Leomon and Bancho mons.

Thank goodness the minus 4k and the Sec-1 last until the end of the opponent turn. BT14 Leomon can evo into this for 6, 14k versus any minus 4k monster is likely a win for you and at Sec-1 they can't just ignore you and go for security.

Flash Bancho Punch is very costly but with possibly 16k worth of minus DP it makes sense not to mention psuedo-blitz. This even works good with BT14 SaberLeomon with it's piercing effect.

Glad that with BT14 and now EX05, Leomon is finally becoming a complete archetype good or not. It seems to be all about taking fights straight up to your opponents monsters which is pleasantly thematic. Looking forward to the new Leomon(possibly Leomon X Antibody) in this set and if HeavyLeomon is in this set or not.

You know, it's really weird, MetalSeadramon gang up with BanchoLeomon, UlforceV-dramon, and WarGreymon.

I can't help but wondering if it's really vague reference to DW2?

The whole vibe of the card artwork and effect is perfect for BanchoLeomon, it fits his character so well.

I mean it's a bit like 02's opening, but... something about that definitely pinged me about that art. It's a reference, I'm almost sure of it, but I can't think of what.

Also, uh, so if Duftmon is in this set and at least partly mirrors Banchou, does that potentially mean Burst Mode :V

Is this a first for Spareribs in the Digimon card game? (Nevermind, he worked on some art for EX-04 and prolly others before) First time I notice the name. Appearently he's really great at drawing mid-action Pokemon art.

This one is pretty great too, I just prefer the Koki version personally. This one is too accurately humanoid in proportions and lacking the slouch.

Something I missed the first time is that the Option card has its own [Bancho] trait.

Flashy Boss Punch (as it's known in the English DRB and all recent games) is actually pretty crazy, does a lot of stuff suspends and also kills all for only 8 cost

I saw one guy saying it's a shame this isn't HeavyLeomon and I can agree with that there's already a lot of BanchoLeomon cards

even with my bias I can say it's a shame we don't have HeavyLeomon.
But this is my favorite BanchoLeomon art and Flashy Bancho Punch is too good so it overrides any negative feeling.
I like combining "Flash Bancho Punch" and "Flashy Boss Punch" into "Flashy Bancho Punch" because it sounds the most fun to me

Nice BanchoLeomon card.

I can't think of the reference.
All 4 of them are in Pendulum 20th.
The background digimon are all dragons and are in World 2 promo art (as MetalGreymon, MetalSeadramon, V-dramon).

I don't know what's connection between BanchoLeomon and dragon except his jogress partner is a dragon.

Interestingly, all background digimon has friend of Ultimate level Leomon in certain media.
WarGreymon and SaberLeomon in Adventure.
UlforceV-dramon and Regulumon in V-Tamer.
MetalSeadramon's neXt form, GigaSeadramon and SaberLeomon's neXt form, Dinotigermon in Pendulum X (I know, it's far fetched). Or Elecmon Betamon connection from Digital Monster (still, far fetched).

I feel like this must reference to something and isn't just random digimon to be put together. Hopefully the artist will tell about it later.
