Art Book Version X Cover, Plus Chronicle X & X3 Teasers in MonMon Memo!

Been a month or so since one of these...



It's time for MonMon Memo 42! This time they show off the brand new cover art for the Digital Monster Art Book Version X (the previous old image of Alphamon being a stand in), plus they do a bit of teasing for upcoming elements of Chronicle X and the X3!



Everyone, Digimon Chronicle X has been updated time after time! Have you already seen Chapter 21 which was published on October 23rd?

That's right! After 16 years those two are back... Kouta and Yuuji from the Pendulum X finally appear! The "they" that Dukemon X in Chapter 16, and Hououmon X in Chapter 17 referred to, as well as "the courageous travelers" in Chapter 19, were them!



Along with Omegamon X, Alphamon, and Ouryumon, numerous Digimon were with Kouta and Yuuji who entered the battle! [Note from Marc- That's some nice high resolution artwork they included from the new Chronicle X chapter.]

What have they been up to? It'll be interesting to read the 22nd chapter which is scheduled to be released on October 30th!

All of the Royal Knights have gathered together now, and the final battle with the Seven Great Demon Lords has begun!

Of course, this battle can be enjoyed in the Digital Monster X Version 3 Yellow and Blue!



As for the Digital Monster Artbook Version X that will be released at the same time... What... this scene is drawn on the cover!

Huh, Diavolomon has some sort of sword with angel and devil wings at the hilt. Could Lucemon Fall Down Mode turn into it, as a dark mirror of the Ōryūken? Hmmm, but the wings are white and black like his natural form, not gold like his Xevolution.

It looks like it. It's probably inspired by how all the demon lords turn into swords on Ogudomon. I really wonder what the hidden Ultimate 3s will be now.

Huh. Maybe Armagemon X is going to reference Ogudomon pretty heavily. Can’t think of an example where an X-Antibody form of one Digimon happens to be more like a combined form of two different species, but I might be getting ahead of myself there.

Maybe we’ll get a wholly new natural carrier that works as an evolution of Diablomon X, Lucemon X, the rest of the SGDL, and as a counterpart to Armagemon, Ogudomon, and Lucemon SM. That’d be really cool. Again, not much basis for this speculation, but it’d be cool if there was an RK equivalent to that. Like a new Digimon that works as an evolution to X-Antibody Holy Knight types, taking inspiration from Imperialdramon PM, Omegamon MM, Dukemon CM, etc.

All cracks on them. But I cannot see any damages on Omegamon X and Dukemon X cuz they are too far to see.

Yeah, that is definitely the Lucemon FM sword from Ogdomon. I’m now totally lost on who the big spooky final antagonist will be (but I would freak out for Ogdomon X).

In my opinion the two ultimate 3's are definitely going to be something for the Royal Knights and Diablomon/Demon Lords.

I think that render with all seven swords is fanmade; three of them haven't been seen in good detail in official art and the blades on the render look a lot more different than the ones visible in the art, plus the visible one with red wings doesn't seem to be there.

Depends on where they got it from - could have pulled it from one of the games if they were able to manipulate the image/models enough. The sword with the red hilt/wings looks like the sword on the far left of the image (beelzemon, I think) but from a different more forward-facing angle. Lucemon and Belphemon are pretty clear. Daemon (behind Belphemon) seems pretty clear too other than the cleaver-type blade. Even the Leviamon, visible here has the right texture and color. The only ones that give me pause are the Lilithmon and Barbamon ones simply b/c there's never been a clear shot.

There are some visual differences in the Daemon/Lucemon swords and how they are in the art, but the art is also kinda inconsistent as well with things like whether the lucemon sword has a 6-pronged crossguard or a 4-prong.

Also, if you meant the sword next to Lucemon's when you said "red wings," that's Beelzemon's sword. The "red wings" are based on Beelzemon's red bandana.

The render seems to be mostly accurate. The biggest flaw would be the aforementioned Beelzemon sword. From what I can make out from the video, the red bandana does seem to fully wrap around the blade, and there's what seems to be a gun barrel that sticks out of the hilt.

You know what would be really disappointing? If this was all there was to it. Nothing grand like Armagemon X. The Ultimate++ is just Diablomon X with the Lucemon sword, similar to Ouryuken or Paladin Mode.

Obviously, they have something bigger planned, but it is a funny thought.

Something bigger planned...? Seraphimon X? Or Olympus Twelve for X-Pet? Or Banchou? .... Journey to the West? No? Devas and Holy Beasts? Legendary Spirits/Ten Ancient Warriors? Vortex Warriors? Volcamon's famous evolutions? Pttf that'd take years... Knowing that Bandai patterns.
